Well, it looks like you're missing some belts, radiator, turbo piping, presumably an intercooler, A/C is gone, and your brake booster is pretty rusty. You might want to change that out.

Motor was swapped 3 years ago I saw it run the day after the swap was finished. just trying to get it running again stock.nothing crazy. Just want a fun car. 250hp or so for now. Just looking for some direction.

so i know that when installing a front strut tower bar, the car should be picked up to decrease stress on the towers. does this principle apply when installing a rear strut tower bar?

Just want to thank you guys for all the help! The beast is up and running again, idles a little high but I can get that. I went out one day and tried everything from scratch, TDC comp, plugs, wires, rotor, dizzy to #1 plug. Got in, Boom Bang Bam! Pressed the gas and the whole car moved, it was so load but sounded so bad a**. I mean it sounded like a V8. Then I get out and look under the car, I had forgotten to hook my exhaust headers to my cat. DANGIT! Hooked it up and it still sounds good, not like a V8 good. Holy BURP, more like a case of hick-ups that wont go away. 18 times I had to top it off, yes I raised the car and did the burp nut. Its also running just a little bit above normal temp, would that be the new cams? I have a new Thermal Temp sensor on the way, the one that is only a metal flat stick, next to the burp nut. Also noticed that some of my connections to the temp sensors are cracked/chipped. Is there a place that just sells the male/female ends of the connections? Or would it be better to get an old harness from somebody?

Unfortunately there really isn't anyone that sells the connections/harnesses... if they make good connection and you want to protect them, just wrap them with electrical tape.

House of Kolor is good. DuPont makes a great line of paints. Omni is usually good for the money.

I buy all of my paint at local body supply stores...

I guess I don't really know what type of damage you're talking about... but if you just want to protect them from the elements or something, I can't really think of another way to do it, other than maybe fiberglassing them to try to repair them, but that's kinda risky.

Quick question. My brother in law has some 195/60/15's, the backs are still good on them and the fronts will probably last another 1,000 miles. I've got a 1990 240sx, stock wheels, I'm guessing they're 15x8's? And I've got 205/60/15's on it right now, would the ones he has fit on my wheels?

Nope, I ran some on my 240's stock wheels for a while. They are a little bit better in the snow due to them being skinnier.

I would say that if you can activate your power locks using the factory Nissan switch, then its your aftermarket junk that's malfunctioning... otherwise something else is up.

On my 93 240sx hatch I did the auto to manual trans swap and it runs fine with the auto ecu but when I put a manual ecu in it from a 92 hatch the car wouldn't start. So I put the auto ecu back in and it cranked and ran like it always did. My question is why wouldn't the manual ecu work? Is it because the neutral safety switch is jumped?

Did it crank and just not start, or did it not crank at all?

It just cranks over and over I'm thinkin the ecu itself is bad cause there's no spark and I can't hear the fuel pump running with the manual ecu.

my friend has a 93 automatic dual cam and it makes a low grinding noise at exactly 1500rpm. she's done some forum searching and all anybody can say that its the heat shield, but why would it do it at exactly 1500? this occurs in both drive and neutral so im thrown off by this. it doesnt happen all the time either. the car runs and drives fine with the exception of a little trans slipping.

also, her car is bone stock and very quiet. i can hear the valves opening and closing through the valve cover, is this normal? i've never encountered a factory KA so i cant say.

thanks for the help.

It could be a heat shield, or it could be the timing chain on the guide. How many miles are on it? Put a screwdriver to the suspect areas while holding your ear to the other end to see if you can pinpoint it better.

Also, that's probably not the valves you're hearing, but rather the injectors.

Will the 2003 Sentra SpecV wheels fit my 1992 240SX? I belive they are 17x7. If so, what tire aspect ratio would I need to get to fit 225 width and maintain my stock overall diameter?

I thought I saw a 240 with those wheels the other day. I might like to paint them bronze though.

As long as you aren't maxing out those injectors, your stock fuel pump should be fine until you want to start adding more fuel.
