GnarKiller wrote:Yes this is going to be an awsome game. but what some maybe even most people dont realize is that There should NOT be a drift mode is there a drift mode in real life no drifting is not a type of mode is a type of racing... games like need for speed and thier drift mode i believe are STUPID (my personal fellings) you dont just switch modes in life you adjust you cars settings and the way you drive when this is done you should then be able to drift. This is possible in GT3 and should be in all regular racing games. The GT game series is one of if not the best out there. but people need to realize if you adjust your car and yourself correctly then you start drifting... I do it ALL the time in GT3.

Just my thoughts! And cant wait for GT4 i allready bought it

Zach
yeah, i think you have the wrong idea or definitionof "modes" if there will be a drift mode does not mean that the game will change in how its played, its just a different way of racing a different way of COMPETING. thats the important part, because you will be able to compete in drifting competitions. (a different way of scoring since they adde a scoring system)

the drift mode will NOT be a "mode" like NFSU where physics and gameplay are modified.

some players would like to drift, but just don't have the commitment to take time to fiddle with the setup so a car is setup to drift, especially when there is no clear payback for drifting (ie. grip racing pays you back with fast laptimes). but if these players were to get rewards other than 'wow, that looks cool' for doing great 4 wheel drifts then they might actually bother to compete.

True.

in GT3 quite a few of my friends and i sometimes just have our own little drifting competitions just get together and have fun. i understand what your saying about the scoreing and stuff thats a good idead i just hope its not like NFSU that way to easy. i like it a challenge where you learn stuff about the car while playing a game.

yah i tried doing that with my friend. I guess we weren't practicing enough. We almost pulled a duel drift on one long corner it was teh awsome. For some reason the 180sx vs the S15. The 180sx to me was easier to drift in GT3. He had the R34 i had the 180sx

lol then my friend chris he likes drifting a vitz for some reason

Wow, I cant wait for the release...

As for the drifting. I think a scored system whould rock, we have little drifting competions (GT3) all the time and we don't go by 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. We watch our replays (best part of the game) and judge each other

and yes Ive spent 4 hrs tuneing 4 of my cars to "Drift Spec" >: )

haha same here, all I do in GT3 is drift. I don't really tune them as much... its all about throttle control

Forza is apparently a very good GT competitor for XBox. Except its missing rally courses.

I've spent hours drifting around in GT3, hours and hours, 2BN_S13 can attest. My roommate and I can pull damn near perfect tandem drifts around a couple of tracks now (I like deep forest). We started out using identical cars (2 FC3Ss), but now he uses an FD and I use an S14.

I found that the best way to practice twin drifting in that game is to start out with two low-powered cars setup for grip (Miatas or MR-S), and then practice going around the track dozens of times with your other drifter, keeping the cars as CLOSE as possible while gripping. It's just to get used to being that close to another car without hitting it. If you can get the two Miatas (or whatever) around the track reliably, only ever seperating them by at the most 3 feet or so, not hitting, then start trying the same stunt with cars set up for drift.

Forza will be what would happen if NFS:U (terrible terrible terrible game--check out this link for just how terrible: http://incessantdoom.com/ipw-w...08308) and GT had children. All the realism of GT, with over 400 cars. Fully customizable performance, from engine to exhaust to suspension. Fully customizable bodywork and other visual mods. From what I have heard, it will have more mods in each area for each car than NFS:U had cars. Since I have a PS2 and an XBox, I intend to pick up both titles. I won't have to wait as long for GT4 though, so I'm more excited about it right now.

Agreed. One of the things that perked me most to forza, Was the ability to build and design your own engine (Sega GT -Dreamcast) and Do or buy engine swaps. Not to mention the immense list of support that manufacturers have given it. Either way you cut it, Forza is Xbox's Simulator, and GT is Playstations "Racing" Game. Looking forward to both.

Any of you guys placed Project Gotham 2 ?

I spent months on the ring on that game, with all kinds of dope cars.

Perfectly rendered, and the online component had some really skilled drivers. Great competition.

The thing I don't like about Project Gotham is its arcade physics. If I want that, I'll play GTA. In an actual racing game--especially one with actual lisenced cars--I want realistic physics and such.

Well after seeing many clips/vids I love it even more. Yea its car graphics while actually racing isnt much over GT3, but the new engine sounds, track/backgrounds designs, replays, and an abundance of cars will get me EVERY time.

I've played the prologue and if its any indication for GT4 it will be as hard, if not harder than GT3 was.
