I don't quite see that but I do see more direct head-to-head competition with the Miata.Jesda wrote:With four seats and a turbo (rumor) it would be a loose spiritual successor to the Saab 9-3 convertible but for a lower price and with Japanese build quality.

Tax Savers,Mod,tax savers!!MinisterofDOOM wrote:I'm still trying to figure out why it has four seats...that goes for the hardtop, too.
My guess is to have the insurance companies classify it as a sporty coupe instead of a sports car making it cheaper to insure than it's 2 seater competition.MinisterofDOOM wrote:I'm still trying to figure out why it has four seats...that goes for the hardtop, too.
Same reason there are 2+2 Z's. $$$MinisterofDOOM wrote:I'm still trying to figure out why it has four seats...that goes for the hardtop, too.
The 9-3 had a usable back seat, a four-banger, and a ragtop. I am, of course, assuming the FR-S vert still retains a back seat.Jmoore124 wrote:I don't see how you can call it a 9=3. The 9 3 always used the saab motor, never switched to a flat 4 and is front wheel drive. The frs uses the flat four and is rear wheel drive. Totally different car imo. Don't care for the vert too much though.
Because Scion is for hipsters, old people, and lesbians.Gray Rohan wrote: I cant stand scion, dont know why,i just cant
Plus they stopped making the S2k, so for someone looking to lease a new car with a warranty, Honda isn't an option.Gray Rohan wrote:Random thought in my head:
i've seen people arguing over this already everywhere "why buy this where you can buy a s2k for less","s2k's have more power, look better, drift better, etc,",
well:
1-s2k's dont come in auto,6 spd manual (YES!!!),This is likely going to have an auto
2-heres the market theyre aiming for:
This is what I was thinking. I had a blast driving the Miata when I owned one, but I was married without kids in those days. Now I have 2 kids to think about. Meh, if I was in the market for another car and I wanted a vert, I'd probably get a classic Eldo or something of that era. Land yachts ftw.Jesda wrote:Jmoore124 wrote:
Otherwise, there's now a lack of sporty four-seat adult-friendly convertibles on the market. The Volvo C70 is a soft cruiser and the Chrysler Sebring/200 is pretty underwhelming. The BMW 3-series has a very limited back seat. I've never been in the back of a Volkswagen Eos but it seems like a tight fit for real humans.
Haven't yet looked closely at the A4 Cabrio.
That's funny, those first two describe the majority of the 240 drivers I see, yet it's the car everyone is begging Nissan to resurrect.krash wrote:Because Scion is for hipsters, old people, and lesbians.Gray Rohan wrote: I cant stand scion, dont know why,i just cant
ahhh, come on,mod busybadger, its not all of them, its like saying all evo drivers are ***holes, just because all the ones i've met so far are, doesn't mean all of them are,Im pretty sure there are some respectable and good evo drivers out there,i just haven't met them yet.BusyBadger wrote: That's funny, those first two describe the majority of the 240 drivers I see, yet it's the car everyone is begging Nissan to resurrect.
Ergo, my use of the phrase, "the majority of".Gray Rohan wrote:ahhh, come on,mod busybadger, its not all of them...BusyBadger wrote: That's funny, those first two describe the majority of the 240 drivers I see, yet it's the car everyone is begging Nissan to resurrect.

I dunno guys, the Evo owners I've met were all nice. For example, those of you that go to NICOfest Carlisle should know "EvoTyler', he drives that sweet blue one, and he's good people.Jesda wrote:The EVO drivers I've met have been short IT guys who consume too much coffee.
Ahhh,dude,that is more like performance oriented,too big of an engine,and its a jag,not a lot of people can afford a Jag!gwoods wrote:Jaguar is making a FR-S with a V8
I swear, if Nissan does this, we should submit a resume for a Juke brand activist position with Nala's credentials and photoshopped ride of the month QX4.VQpwrdSE-R wrote: " Yes! a convertible juke, that's what the masses desire!"
