People with GT-R's would tend to disagree with you, the fun starts with a 7000rpm clutch dump for those guys :D

All while the KA is sitting at already 2.4 liters, and can go higher. So the KA has a higher ceiling for power, more torque in the lower rev range, and more displacement.

And why is there more SR's at the high(500) hp range? Because most people go down the well beaten path.

let's not forget the torque advantage

1) there are plent, and i mean PLENTY, of 500+ hp SR that are not stroked. Hell there are people with 500hp on the stock bottem end on the SR.

2) Both engines are great for turbo. The SR just makes it a little easier because all the oil and water lines etc. are already ncorperated in the origional build of the motor. The KA requires some modification. As far as a ceiling for power, i have seen a 750hp SR20DET in a magazine, so im sure some day someone can reach that with the KA.

3) your absolutely right, SR path is well worn thanks to entusiasts in japan, but the KA turbo has tons of support in america, with multiple (at least 5) companies making turbo kits and tons of engine parts for the KA.

4) torque is in the turbo ;)

which is better? neither i think. I went with the SR because i wanted to completely take my car apart and learn how things go together and function as a system. Neither option is inexpensive either. If you car is turbo, its going to be a money pit.

right! as for the SR path being worn...hmm maybe thats because the SR is what the car was originally designed to come with....If we had been given the SR there would be no debate on whether to swap or not(also I dont think that the Z would have sold so well, leave that to the marketing geniuses at nissan). I dont think anyone would try to swap out thier SR for a KA and put a turbo on it The KA is what the EPA left us with. bastards! so your choice is to work with it or get rid of it.

Well put! That is pretty much what happened. As what is more costly I still ponder myself. I want to turbo my KA but it's seems a little pricey, I can do the swap for less but I like the amount of torque the KA produces and it's iron instead of aluminum. Besides this is going to be a drift machine so I shoudln't get so hung up on HP. :)

Can anyone recommend Turbo Kits for the KA? Besides Greddy and XS engineering? websites would help.

search in an older SCC magazine, they had a turbo guide in there, and there was a butt load of kits for the KA
