Same thing for me. Got my car back from valet, left the key in the cupholder by accident, got out the car, clicked the door button to lock and got the error beep (like the one you get when you try to lock the door but your passenger hasn't closed their door yet). If this happened at your house though, you should have your 2nd keyfob in there to unlock if need be.
