The tree only put a small scratch on the silver J but bent up my mom's Regal's left front fender and hood pretty bad. I also put a small dent on my sis-in-law's Sentra.

The 93 was gray on the inside and my wife always thought it looked dismal and dull. Silver with black guts or pearl white with black guts is my fav color combo on a car.

But, you can't be choosey when the price is right. The silver one, we paid $1,500 for it and the white one, we only paid $1,000 for it. (One of the perks of being in the car business.)

-- Congrats on the bargain prices. Lemme know if an 'o3 M45 comes along, eh? I think if I had a choice, double black, I'm not a white car guy myself, but that's just me. Silver with grey guts is a cool color combo too, glad to hear it didn't perish under the tree.

Great deal on the white J30. I paid $1200 for my '94 and ended up putting around $1000 into parts to fix the car up.

It wasn't perfect when I got it but I was able to get all the parts that I needed off the 93 so it only cost me some time. Otherwise it probably would have been over $1000 to fix it.

One of the rear struts was blown, one of the rims was bent, the heat didn't work very well (needed thermostat), the a/c didn't work (the tension pulley was siezed), both headlights were cracked, and the hood lifts didn't work.

How long ago did you get the white J30 and how did the silver one die?

Got the white one back in Feb and the silver one jumed time somehow even tho I had the belt replaced. It has no compression on 5 and 6 I believe.

-- Not really amazing because there is one generation and no aftermarket, so they all pretty much look the same, what is amazing is how good some of these look at 14 and 15 years old. I'm personally glad the OP started the thread, and as you can probably tell, I like it. If you've got no pics to post & nothing nice to say, GTFO. My timing belt's fine thanx, and I think there's an FX35 forum to discuss the sporty cute ute and not be off topic.

-- Hey puck nice J, cool to see a 97. I envy your mileage.

-- Hey yoda, I agree, Merry Christmas and goodwill toward men.

--C'mon littlewillie, awful quick to lash out, ain't ya? Your screen name reveals why your mad, it's not the size of the fish, it's the motion in the ocean, just keep telling yourself that. It's a shame that some people would rather come to a pic post say negative crap rather than participate, I think your exact word was "idiots". SO I'll say it again... if you've got nothing nice to say and no pics, LEAVE, doosh. BTW I like that StevieGay thing you came up with, you really sound your age there, lol, you could be the oldest e-thug ever!! I wish I could change my screen name to StevieGay, because I love you........ man love rules ok.

-- Wow 5'3", no kidding? That explains the name, [edited by driverdriver]

-- Driver, Sorry about perpetuating this ghey e-argument, I just thought willie was sh*tting on an awfully nice pic thread, calling us idiots and all, and I couldn't pass up the oportunity to pwn him, twice. I think if this site is about people helping each other out and sharing info, pics, etc., then people should keep their negative remarks to themselves. I'd say it was akin to going into the classifieds and saying that you don't like someone's car or their price is too high. The funny thing is that this time, it's not a teenager, which wold be par for the course, lol.

-- Someone please get this thread back on the right track and post up some pics of more pretty Js. I know there's more.

My J the day I bought it:

I omitted the front end of the car since the only light fixtures on the front that weren't broken were the passenger side marker and headlight.

The car was so friggin' ghetto when I bought it too. Radio didn't power up, all but two light fixtures on the front were broken, inside was dirty as anything, sunroof didn't open on it's own (ample amounts of lithium grease fixed that), one of the interior trim pieces didn't stay on by itself, center armrest in front seat had a gash in it and three days later my power steering line decided to give out. In fact, when I went to the guys house to test drive the car, my first thought upon seeing the car was that it wasn't worth a dime but then I test drove it and at that point just had to have it.

The broken (but now replaced) headlight is partially visible in the right side of this pic: http://img.villagephotos.com/p...e.jpg

I dont have any pics here @ work of mine. I have a few at home. Not much to look at here lately though with getting hit twice in a couple months and the first being my fault and the 2nd the officer was lazy and wouldn't determine fault...front end is a little dinged and my ins is only plpd for this car.

but 208000 miles and a 93 it still starts and runs everyday even through the snow. And stil gets 20-25mpg depending on my foot.

You're not the first to notice the doors are in great shape. I had the local Infiniti dealer look the car over before buying it. They did nothing but rave about how good the condition was, especially the doors! I guess they have a tendency to wear down.

-- Cool story yoda, I was gonna ask you if your kids were ewoks in that last one but I thought it would be rude, lol. 6'2" 260, wow, I'm guessing your wife or her father is the tall one. My pops passed ten years ago this past fall, and my nickname was given to me by an old friend of his that recently moved right down the street from me. He started the 'StevieRay' nickname, and I like it, because my dad's name was Steve, too, and he used to love Stevie Ray Vaughn. I cherish his music to this day, oh yeah, I can also play a mean blues guitar, been pickin' since '94.

-- Yoda, that's cool you're near SRV's childhood home, IMHO he was prolly the greatest blues guitar player ever.

-- Driver, why you gotta edit my funny yoda joke? When I typed that about how yoda speaks, I didn't think it would offend anyone. I assume that you censored me on that because I mentioned religion, but I was really more so observing the way Star Wars movies have misplaced accents. I mean if it takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, then why do Yoda & Obi Wan have ethnic accents? It was an innocent observation that I cleverly turned into a joke, with no racist motive. Sorry if I offended anyone.

-- It would take alot of pics to save this thread, apologies for helping it go south. These Santa smilies are cool tho.

With the ratio off in your picture, it makes the car look like an Altima. lol

-- Odd. Ratio is fine here, anyone else seeing a vertically stretched image? Funny tho, I've actually been asked if it was an Altima once. I'm pretty sure that Nissan borrowed the J's styling cues from the Altima/Bluebird, and that it was designed in California.
