In other words... it's a piece of crap.

The thing looks ugly as all hell and likely couldn't score in a ****-a-buck whorehouse with a fistfull of dollar bills.

The Altima Coupe will destroy it.

I bet a Stage 3 Saab 93 Turbo would beat the new Cobalt.

Aka... ME.

I think the best description of Chevy Cobalt is that it's a cardboard box with wheels.

I've smoked a few of those on the freeway, one of them I let keep up for a while since the blonde driving was kinda hot

Chevy will have created a miracle if they built a reliable 260hp supercharged 2.0L. Chevy has never taken this path before, and neither has anyone else. Turbo 4cyl, sure, they have been successful. Mitsubishi's 4g63t, Volks/Audi's 1.8T, Nissan's sr20det, Subaru's EJ25. But the supercharged 4 cylinder? Only Mini and Mercedes really ever produced a lineup like that. Both with 4 cyl s/c motors that produced less than 200hp. Chevy really is taking a leap here.

Different car. Last Cobalt SS had 205 hp. This one has 260, and possibly a much better build, considering the way chevy is taking over the domestic auto market with its build quality now.

by the way, looking into it, the new qr25de motor is strong, the old was not that is why they upgraded the internals a lil, i went on nismo website and called to talk about it and the guy that i was talking to was telling me all about it and i asked as a joke if the motor would ever see 300hp and he said that the way it looks now(strong) ya it could.

i'm getting tired of seeing 3.5ers telling 2.5ers that its not strong, ever since i first started on nico i seen "if you want more power you should haven goan with a 6cyl".NO....well the same to you guys, if you wanted more power and more parts you should have goan with a used G35 coupe...

Dont forget the new Hyundai Genesis coupe (i think thats what it's called) it'll be offered in a 310hp w/ optional brembo brake kit, 19'' wheels, 0-60 sub-6 seconds. I think msrp ~28k. that'd be a handful too

check out the interior pix, reminds me of a mixture of infiniti brushed aluminum and civic steering wheels. Exterior looks alot like G37 too, looks like hyundai is finally movin in the right direction, but still a long ways to go.

man, you sound a lil salty my friend... I don't think folks were clowning the 2.5 outright, its just that a number of folks were asking what they could do for more power on the 2.5, and that was the response they were getting..

say you want to turbo your 2.5... well the average turbo'ed 2.5 will put you just at the specs for the 3.5... and, like it or not, the new QR (while better than the old one) is no VQ! So now you've got a turboed QR for the same price that you could have gotten a brand new 3.5 at the time of purchase, but the QR is a questionable engine.. this is why folks were responding the way they were! I for one never made that comment because I think the 2.5 has got plenty of kick for the average driver (I have both a 2.5 and a 3.5 ), and if folks later decide to turbo their car, then all the more power to them I say!

As for the whole "should have gotten a used G35" comment, well as we have already stated and proven in numerous head to head races, the 3.5 A/C is faster than the all G35's except the 2007 manual!
