A first class would have no distance restrictions. I punked out and went for the second class because I was worried I might not pass the harder test. In retrospect, I bet I could have. The second class meets my needs, though. I can get anywhere I want to go within that limit.

My focus has changed. So unlike me I know! I have a lot of diver freinds and they are always complaining how few dive boats there are around here.

Mad with powerboat - ? - Profit
My operator's permit is done. Next month I start on the scuba lessons. I'm not interested in scuba at all, sorry man.

I am interested in getting a business started and I see a market. The scuba certs are just something I think I should have for the safety of my customers and to better understand their needs in a boat. My job now is driving me crazy and I'm not sure if I can keep from flipping out. I need a plan B and I think this would work.

The sailboat was going to be a fun thing, this is a business thing. If I don't sell the sailboat I'm going to use it, but if I can sell it, it's a contribution to the dive boat fund. I like these and I need to put together about $25 Gs to make that happen. The bank says they will loan money for a Japanese boat if I have the title translated, but I will have to work on my debts and get some money in my account before I am ready to try for that.

Nice. I'm a certified scuba diver.

A boat with a fairly open area, as well as easy entry/exit is the most important part.

Do people there bring anything back while they Scuba? Like, do they go spear fishing or shell fishing, or do they just do some sight seeing and then come back?

Some do, but the laws are complex and punishment severe. On my boat you can dive, but don't bring back anything you didn't take in. I'm not having my boat seized because some dumbass decided to spearfish with scuba gear on.

:gapteeth:

One of the best feelings during sailing is being hiked out while balancing your weight with the wind. I strive for controled chaos where the side rail is in the water, but just enough to where it scuttles water in and out of the boat on the lip of the rail.

I'm going to spray paint the bottom of my boat to say "f*** YOURSELF" or something along those lines so when I'm heeled over (or capsized) folks will see my colorful language and see that I'm asserting my captain hood.

Congrats on the license, have fun and enjoy the sailboat!

If I can get the dive boat going I'm going to paint it a freaky color and write "THIS WAY UP" on the bottom to give divers a chuckle on the ascent.

I was part of a sailing club in high school. I remember capsizing right in front of my parent's house, telling the guy who's fault it was "good luck, and f*** you!" and swimming home.

It was REALLY cold out that day.
Just remember, its kinda like Top Gear. If one of your chaps has some sort of failure, its best to just leave him there haha :)

I heard that chuckling on the ascent is deadly if you've got tanks on.

Well, second week of July I have my Scuba class. I get winded easy these days and I can't swim for s***. Should be easy!
