You broke the TOS you agreed to when you joined NICO. If you think you can freely express yourself here with no repercussion then you are sadly mistaken.

Thank you audtatious for reminding us that all of us abide by a common law on here. I'm saying that without sarcasm and do think we need a reminder on that. Not singling one person out, as a lot of us are guilty time to time. Some more than others. I digress, here is a little reminder to points that may have been missed in the excitement of signing up:

My post / thread disappeared - What happened?

While the NICO Administration tries very hard to avoid censoring or removing posts, posts or threads can be removed for any number of reasons. The most common reasons are:

1) Linking to a forum that competes with NICO. While this may seem silly, NICO exists due to the enormous flow of traffic that enters the site. Without this, the resource would cease to exist.

2) Posting something inappropriate. In the interests of professionalism, we ask that anything posted on NICO be "PG-13" in nature. There are other sites where "anything goes" and, while we try to avoid censoring content, NICO is not one of them.

3) Flaming, bashing or trolling. A good rule of thumb here is, "if you don't have anything nice / constructive to say, don't say anything." NICO prides itself on being a safe place for all people (newbies and veterans) to learn and share a common interest.

4) Commercial posting. We all hate spam, and spamming our members is a good way to be removed from NICO. Further, if you are a business and you have a product that might be of interest to our members, feel free to contact us. We can't allow commercial posting for non-paying advertisers, but we're very flexible and can design a package that accomodates most business budgets.

5) Political and religious discussions. We've learned from experience that these sorts of threads lead to division and dissent in our family, and we'd prefer to remain cohesive and united in our enthusiasm for cars.

6) Starting a new topic in place of one that you *think* might have been removed by a Moderator for one of the aforementioned reasons is simply bad "netiquette" and will be dealt with appropriately.

Other than that, we're a pretty fun place to spend some time, so come in, soak up some automotive knowledge, have a fun off-topic chat, contribute if you wish, and enjoy being part of the NICO Family - we're glad you're here. - found in FAQ on the top tab bar.

So all in all, be respectful and you will be respected. Most of all, lets all have fun in discussion of our awesome cars. NISSAN

This is an online forum and there is going to be some pressure on the rules from time to time, that's to be expected. Nobody here is a Nazi nor a "goody goody". But, creating a thread to have a 8-yo tantrum won't do. Thus, I'm being stubborn and want an apology for everyone on the Altima Forum.

Halo, I try and see the "lighter" side of things... you make it tough.

This isnt a democracy, you are owed NOTHING, you have a PRIVILEGE of being allowed to post on NICO. Attacking or complaining about the help we (the nico community as a whole) provides does not help.

I think I'm gonna take an opportunity to thread-jack. This thread is called "Thanks Guys" and in the spirit of the thread's title, I would like to thank you guys for helping me out with any project I have done on my car. Whether I asked about it or not, you guys have been a well of knowledge that runs very deep. Whether it's Doc's recommendations on A/V or a general review of the 10,000th "which intake" thread, I know that if I look, do a search, and read, I can find what I need. Thanks Guys!!!!!!!

I dont really understand the hole "Ban thing". You guys get so worked up just let the kid be a douche, ignore him and go to a different thread. I found this thread sort of amusing and insta-banning these people takes the fight out of these threads, its funny to watch someone destroy themselves...just my opinion.

P.S. for the record, I was one of those "nice" people that gave him positive feedback in his other thread
