Well you must have alzheimers then because YOUR the one who started the name calling. I wish you would have meaningful comments for this forum instead of bashing everything everyone says. As your momma always said "if you got nothing nice to say then don't say it."
CY I think you are overreacting to his point. None of us want to see you screw up a nice car or get into trouble over it. None of us want you to potentially lose your car either. I'd suggest that you chill a little and listen to what everyone is saying, and then make up your own mind. You don't have to respond to every post. Oh, and if you must capitalize and underline a word, make sure you spell it correctly. It's You're, not Your. (friendly advice designed to help you be a better person)

Guy(s)... not cool If I wanted to read this kind of vitriolic, name spewing, flaming garbage, I'd be over at Craigslist. Maybe a mod needs to step in and set you straight? Please, chill.

Guys, I know no one has to tell you guys to relax and act like grown adults. This forum is still small so everyone should have a pretty good idea how everyone is by now, expect to get flamed for anything you do, I have been flamed countless times, so it's no big deal lol. The reason why many say don't get the test pipes is because I heard they release a foul smell, it is super bad for the environment. I know you might not think one person could make a difference, but you could lead by example. The choice at the end is yours of course, but I don't think it's worth it IMO..

You're a forum moderator. I'd expect a little more mature and reasoned response than that. Somehow I think Audtatious or AZHitman would see it differently.

From the terms of service:

3) Flaming, bashing or trolling. A good rule of thumb here is, "if you don't have anything nice / constructive to say, don't say anything." NICO prides itself on being a safe place for all people (newbies and veterans) to learn and share a common interest.

Its a joke my friend, of course flaming should not be tolerated, I was trying to lighten the mood up, all in all you all know what your doing and your all adults, so act like adults. Thanks for the terms and conditions tho, maybe you could take my spot

No one is afraid of, nor is it about, getting caught. We're afraid of not doing our part in helping keep the environment green. We're afraid of not leaving the world a little better shape than it would be if everyone had your attitude.

Your cavalier attitude about adhering to the law, and the legal requirements of car ownership will surely take you places in the future, although it will most likely be in handcuffs. I'd suggest you rethink your position before you learn the hard way.

I would never advise someone else to break the law and jeopardize their 37K car in the process. It's just irresponsible.
Well i do not have a cavalier attitude.. but listen u sound jus like a cop neway.. but yet again.. look at all the power plants and the energy plants... they produce more smoke/smug to kill someone.. and by far.. removing the converters wouldnt harm the earth that much.. and to better the fact.. u jus need a ECU chip to process the fuel/air effciency to get the right amount of power.. but i havent read anything about chips or nething for this car yet..

and like i said.. u wanna care so much for the earth and the environment... i bet u polute it too... and if u dont.. go work for the environmental clubs and better the environment cuz at the end.. they are not going to get anywhere..

"rethink my position" I will not rethink my position and i am not adhereing to the "law" .. i aint a slave... and most likely WILL not end up in handcuffs..

I’m sure to get flamed again for this, but perhaps it’s time to lock this thread. It’s being hijacked by a bunch of teenagers including some who do not know how to write in English and who don’t give a crap about anything but themselves. It’s all about how “cool” their modded cars look and the law and environment be damned.

Let's look at it from a PURELY PRACTICAL standpoint:

TO the original poster:

I have a G35 with headers, aftermarket y-pipe and NISMO exhaust.

I installed testpipes for 2 weeks. There was NO difference in the sound of the car, and there was NO difference in power (granted, I was using the butt-dyno, and it's pretty well-calibrated).

Forget the impact to the environment or legality - It's just not a good "bang for the buck".

Install a plenum spacer instead.

BTW, taking out your spare tire will have more of an effect on your acceleration than installation of testpipes. Modern catalytic converters are VERY free-flowing.

Lest you disregard my knowledge, I own a custom exhaust fabrication company.
