I have had Tein's for quite a while and I love them. Best mod I've done to my car.

lol.. Zeal super functions are hardly what we could call "a couple hundred more than HE's."

there are a million different coilover setups. Buddy Club, JIC, Kei Office... the list goes on.

Teins are great. I heart them. Once my current struts blow, I'm either going to get Buddy Clubs or Tein RA/RS's.

Sorry, I confused the RS w/ the RE. It would be RA/RE then. RS's too...but a little to rich for my blood.

cusco>jic...

inverted shock design, IIRC. cusco uses far better materials, and beter valving than JIC. Also, cusco uses 5 levels of dampening, not 8 or 16..whcih to me, if the damper is vavled for the car and spring rate to begin with, is enough for anyone.-chet

To everyone-

the cusco 02R damper is comparable to Ohlin's mid level (this is the one right before when you take your car to them to get custom spec'd to yoru car and tuned on their shock dyno for the tracks you plan to run.)

The only other damper that comes close is Zeal S6/Topline Aragosta

Then explain why Tein RS's, their top end, have 32 (16x16) levels of adjustment (not attacking, but wanting an honest opinion)...

I was looking into the Tein RS's for a little bit due to their high adjustabililty, but decided on the Kei Office Type XT-alphas instead (should be in next week). Between the agressive, but not overboard, spring rates and the top end of what Kei offers... I figured I couldn't go wrong. We will see...

more levels of adjustment dont mean "better", it means "more complex"...to be honest, like I said if you can feel a difference between say 15 and 16 clicks, i'd be suprised. a good coilover damper system with properly selected spring and damper bound/rebound should maybe have up to 8 levels of adjustment, anything more is overkill..-chet

Though i agree to an extent (with Exar-Kun) I dont think anythign over 8 is overkill. I can most definetly feel a difference in my HE settings with EVERY SINGLE click.

Im not sure if there is a magic number of sorts and I dont know if everything is overkill or not. If you have a very tolerant suspension system and everything else has slack that can be taken up I coudl see how a click or two wouldnt really reveal much. BUT if you do have a complex settup, understand and feel teh changes made to anything (like me...most of the time) the adjustment settings make a differece period

My Type XT-alpha's have 16... and I'd imagine the additional will help those who are "in the know" (more or less what candela said) find that sweet spot instead of possibly having to choose between just to little or just to much. You have to remember that what is right for one combo might not be right for another click 11 might be the sweet spot with one setup A, to little for setup B, and to much for setup C. A quality system that has the ability to change preloads, weight distrobution... etc... those fine clicks (which mean something with a quality system) might turn out to be your friend. Just my opinion... no one has to agree

poor quality control, install issues, damper is not matched to the spring, on s13 it slams the whole car even on top height, and on s14 the front is slammed but the rear is like 1 inch drop when you have it fully lowered

i daily drive / drift / autox (not enough cash for rr :() my tien he and they take the beating and ask for more.
