TEin currently makes the best quality/cost (bang for buck, as chmercer said) coilover systems right now...

they lose out in materials and other items to apexi, cusco, etc but cost half as much....

without the problems of "wal-mart" coilovers(d2, etc)-chet

What are the main differences between the Tein flex &HE? I'm into drift but i would like grip to for canyons runs and Auto x. Are the HE suitable for grip, or should i just wait and get the flex- and are the flex stiff enough to hold drifts?

So many qs!! thanks in advance

HE's will be fine for grip with tires that can handle them...

Okay

I know i've done it before

But let me break it down again for you guys

1. Cusco 02R/Kei Office XR/TEIN RE/Zeal B6/S6

Pretty much top of the line, nice stuff, is it good for street? Depends on you..for me, yeah I could run 02R on the street, yeah I could run XR on the street(springrate is to much though for my driving style...)

Question is can YOU handle feeling every bump and rock? you get used to it..its like LSD, yo uthink your car is broken for a week, but then you're like oh yeah..its just my 2way.

2. TEIN HE, GPSport GR6, Buddyclub Race, Section/Silkroad RM/A8

Nice damper for mid range, sunday driver, everything you need in a damper system, good if you dont want to shell out big bucks for something yo'ure not going to be taking FULL advantage of (read as many track days.)

3. D2/HA etc., etc.,

Low buck coilover, meh, good if you wanna slam your car, dont expect much life under hard driving...dont get them if you're like for example: "man TEIN RE is to stiff..." coilover will always be stiff

its the nature of the damn thing.

nice info, there seems to be a consensus that D2s aren't that great of a coilover compared to the big brands then.

The D2 is just fine...but dont expect some of the same features as coilovers listed in group #1

thats like expecting a 5 dollar blow job to be the same as a 5000 dollar one...get it?

ONLY problem i have with them...theydont lower the rear enough AT ALL

he dosent have them.

s13 it slams your car on highest setting, and s14 the front is fine but the rear is like 1" lower than stock on lowest setting, is what ive heard. measurments are probably exadgerated but gives you an idea.

Except when your paying wholesale prices. The D2's aren't as quality as more expensive coilovers, but they're still better than any spring shock combo, and they're the same price or cheaper (at least in the group buys).

i think i'm gonna swap my D2's for HE's if for no other reason, but to see the difference. If it's not all it's cracked up to be, i'll tell.=)

Since after i sell the D2's, they're going to a friend who's car i'm doing a CA swap in...so i can still compare all i want.

After driving the last 3 weeks on them, i want something stiffer than the 7/5 setup i had originally gotten.

The D2's actually felt better, before i put all the SPL parts on my car. Since now all that is soo stiff, it feels funny with the soft springs. I still think i'm gonna pick up some sway's too. Either ST or Whiteline. Not sure how balanced the ST will make it, i like the idea of having it adjustable with how picky i am about stuff.=)

It's seperate bound and rebound adjustment so it's not fair to look at it as '32'. It is 16 (which seems to be Teins magic number) for each.

You can adjust height without losing shock travel, you have a huge variety of spring rates to choose from, the dampening can handle 7/5, i got camber plates up front and solid rear mounts, all for the price of a sping/shock combo. There reliability over time has yet to be proven but so far there has only been issues with initial fit and finish (which is an issue but there is a 6mo warrenty). Doesn't KYB say that AGX's are meant for stock ride height? I'm not sure about Koni. Don't get me wrong, when I'm out of school I'll be getting something much nicer, but for now they serve my purposes and I can still affford some spl parts. Not to mention when I do sell them in a couple years I'll be taking a much smaller loss than If I got some HE's and then wanted to upgrade.

its all relative

jsport short dampers with kgmm dr210 or tanabe pro210 spring and cusco or tein camber plate will be the same thing jus tnon height adjustable

you could compare that setup to likeJIC SF1
