OK guys, so I dropped my car off for R&D at tein last year, and I have been keeping in touch with them. As of right now, their lowering springs are on a DEFINITE hold due to the fact that they are not familiar with the rear spring coil designs? Thats not what i'm interested in however. I was talking to Marc a a week ago, and he said the coilovers are on somewhat of a lag right now, not on hold, but they arent seeing the amount of sales numbers from the altima coupe they want to. So he wanted me to get another poll going with interest, etc, and what not. All the other threads on Tein coilovers will be sent through email to him through me from this forum. He told me to keep nagging tein, and thats all we can do right now.

I would love Tein coilovers on my car. However, there has been so much TALK about them the past year or so and hardly any action. They should have come out with them a long time ago, my bet is that a lot of people on this forum would have jumped on them due to their reputation and the desire for a lower, tighter ride. But now Loop is about to get the new coilovers coming out from BC Racing, and if he gives a good review, my guess is that the people with a high interest in coilovers (and the bank account to finance them) will probably get those.. especially when it isn't even certain whether we'll have a Tein option anytime soon, if at all.

They do more than just drop the car. They stiffen up the suspension and lower the car plenty. Price 200 compared to 800. Im driving on the high way most of the time, not a track. Waiting is silly...

On a side note, any stiffer or lower and your gonna have trouble. I took 3 people besides my self to Mid evil nights right next to the "NJ" Giants stadium. It was about an hour and a half drive. I had a fat couple in my back seat. Low and bumpy, low and bumby...

I know that.. I just don't want my shocks to wear out so quickly such as changing them to just drop springs alone..and coilovers can give a way better ride with adjustments

i lost all hope for Tein. I emailed them so many times before and nothing, all they keep saying is wait a few more months and stuff. Why even bother with them anymore. Just wait for BC Racing, atleast they went and did the R&D and actually made them. Loops getting them in a few weeks and should be out on the market soon so just wait for those. If Tein keeps holding out, then its their loss if the guys thats been waiting for coilovers goes with BC Racing instead.

Seriously I have been waiting so long for coilovers and I been saving up (was saving for the exhaust), but since BC racing is coming out with them and if Loop give a very good review I will be getting those.

I am still interested in Tein coilovers because I know it will be cheaper and still have very good quality but they are taking a bit to long and I stop emailing them since I was getting the same replies.

I will give about 2 more months if Tein doesn't come out with anything I will go with BC racing (if the review is good) since that is when I will have the money for it.

never hurts to try you guys. Marc from tein just wants weekly updates from nicoclub threads, etc, to see what he can do to push for the coilovers, in the end they just dont see the numbers they want as of right now.

well you can adjust them to your liking which means a even stiffer better ride and you won't have to go into the hassle of changing out broken shocks so soon because springs can give it to wear sooner

Ill start there, daan hit the nail on the head. Are you tracking this car... Prolly not. The car looks like crap with the 4 inch wheel gap.
HuyyNguyen wrote:you won't have to go into the hassle of changing out broken shocks so soon because springs can give it to wear sooner
This is pure nonsense. How fast do you think these springs are going to take to wear out the struts? 10 to 20 % sooner if that. Even if you had to replace the struts once, u would still have way more money left over.

The springs are progressive, they arent super stiff, under normal driving the wear is maybe 5% or less wear than normal.

To all that still drive a 4 by 4 altima waiting for coil overs

Kenny, hope everything goes through with Tein. Could you post which coilover models they would be producing and as well the MSRP?

appreciate for your guys interests and responses. I just got off the phone with Matt and Marc, and I was told that the altima coupe's coilover is close upto production now, and they're waiting for prototype parts and an official response from japan.

Good to hear Kenny. What is the ETA now?

Tein needs to step it up and make their mono flex coilovers if they want to compete with other coilover companies.

Hi Kenny, Thank you for your message and for your all your help!!

At any rate, the information will serve to be very helpful. From the poll, it looks like we have great interests in coilover upgrades and proves that getting the application out as soon as possible is extremely important. Currently, the Altima is number two on our production list and our factory in Japan is working hard to deliver the proto-type as soon as possible. Another reason for the slight delay is that Japan is testing the Nissan Teanna, which is believed to be the same chassis. Their plan is to manufacture the item once for both markets. This will help keep the price as low as possible for you and our fellow Altima enthusiast. I see many have lost patience, but hopefully, when the product does get here, it meets expectation and delivers. Thank you again for your effort, feel free to contact me for any additional questions you may have. if the Nissan Teanna really has the same suspension setup, then this opens LOTS of new possibilities, plus lots of inexpensive parts (with killer shipping..lol)

great news!!

Here is why. Tein always gave the same answer but in different wording when I emailed them. It didn't matter if it was way back in 2007 or till now. They just gave the same utter crap response.

Will it meet expectations ? For me, not if they are basic and super street. I would love to see Tein mono flex coilovers. Only worth looking into.

I agree with all of the statements that dldjros69 has made here. 98% of all of the cars on here are daily drivers, so for them, its pretty much just an expensive way to lower your car/ bragging rights IMO.
