keep in mind that the speed limit in japan is approx. 39mph or something like that so that is what speed they crash test them at in japan.Johnnie wrote:How much "less safe" are skylines than USDM cars? What are the big differences? I'm not all that familiar with Skylines, yet I can't imagine that a car that typically outperforms the majority of american cars on a track is unsafe to dd. For instance, Miatas, Smart cars, escorts, etc. are all legal USDM cars and the occupants are most certainly unsafe in a crash in all of them.
Sure, just send me an e-mail or PM and I can get you better pricing on anything DMAX than the advertisers on Zilvia.Cody240 wrote:Hey Teddy I was looking at your blog or what ever it is and was wondering how much that spoiler was on your hatch and how could I get one. Im so tired of everyone making a big deal out of this import car thing. If it passes emissions you can get it titled. After emissions no one cares if your car is jdm, edm, cdm or any other domestic market you can think of. This is why we have titled dune buggies, rat rods, and salvage titled vehicles which are not crash tested. The people at the dmv dont care what kind of car you have if you have the proper paperwork your good to go.mRodiek wrote:Im curious if thats really the case for imported cars because they never abided by the rules here, where as the American Collector cars passed the laws of the time it was built in.
I love how the port looks at night!S13Teddy wrote:

Yes on a state level that's fine. And I know ohio and many states don't care. Hell my friend that owns a shop daily drove his race car, which is a NA 3 rotor rx7 with a 3.5in exhaust. Yeah like that will pass emissions.J14cm7 wrote:Im so tired of everyone making a big deal out of this import car thing. If it passes emissions you can get it titled. You and me both, buddy. If you've ever been around the port during the night time, it looks AMAZING. All of the cranes, huge cargo ships and trucks everywhere, plus the crazy amount of noise going on really makes the place almost magical. When we were shooting the pictures, I really didn't want to leave.MellowS13 wrote:I love how the port looks at night!S13Teddy wrote:

Would everybody please read this so you can educate yourselves instead of coming on the forums and speaking total bs. There are ways to import a skyline and no they are just not magically taken away by the gov once you have one and have imported it the right way. Not saying all the modifications are easy but if done right yes you can have a skyline in the US no matter how old it is. It has nothing to do with safety.hatedinthemind wrote:so-you-want-to-buy-a-skyline-in-the-us-t159216.html

Thats pretty intense... Im inclined to agree with you though.castron dillon wrote:Teddy, this thread is so incredible. The part with the Bride seat almost brought me to tears. (ALWAYS has been my favorite racing seat too).
The picture of all the cars outside of your house. Epic. The pics of silvias on the freeway.. All differnet kinds of people, different goals, fears, walks of life, All behind the wheel of a silvia, all going in the same direction
This thread is what it is ALL ABOUT.

At first I can say I didn't care for the pignose, but it really grew on me.
Do you have a skyline or previously owned one, or tried to import one.J14cm7 wrote:Would everybody please read this so you can educate yourselves instead of coming on the forums and speaking total bs. Sorry to threadjack teddy but the hooplah around this whole JDM thing is crazy. People just overthink stuff.
Well I'm glad you enjoyed it. I still kind of need to finish it though. Haha. I'm hoping I can fit the entire story in my first post of the thread so that people can just read it without having to look for everything.castron dillon wrote:Teddy, this thread is so incredible.
I wanted a Kouki bumper for a while, but sort of decided against it because I hate joining "crazes". I like the way they look but I also don't want to spend a million dollars getting all of the aero.Metal Angel wrote:I love that you are rockin the pignose on your hatch. someone posted a few pages back "which front end are you going with? kouki or chuki?" as if zenki wasn't even an option. IMO the pignose is a much more interesting bumper than either of the other two. Keep rockin it forever. Don't change it. It has soul that the other front ends don't have.
You know it.silviaS13lover wrote:sick thread man. r32 sedan slammed with bn aero, flush dished wheels?!?!?
