Hey LBC, to let ya know, according to some articles I read on our QR25de, the lead engineer who designed the motor wanted the redline to be put at 7100 rpm, but nissan lowered it on the production models.

correct me if i'm wrong but aren't they saying our cars are running way too rich from the factory? meaning they're spraying more gas then needed and if they lean it out they would either add a bunch more air (which i know happens from Turbo but don't know how a ECU tune can do that) or they would have to cut back on some of the fuel. therefore less gas would be used..... sooooo going by that logic shouldn't it IMPROVE MPG?

I can tell you from first hand experience, a turbo on your car is absolutely not gonna improve your mpg. In certain circumstances like cruising at 60 mph over a period of 50 miles, you will see a slight improvement over stock, with a good tune, because air flow is run far more efficiently. However, driving around town, you will see a drop of about 5 mpg per tank.

ya well when you get a turbo you also get larger injectors and spray more fuel. if they said the car was too rich and cut back on some of the fuel, it should improve MPG right?

Received an e-mail from them last week which stated they should have something on the market in 1-2 months if everything goes well. Considering what I have read in the forum, I am not holding my breath. Sorry to disappoint the 2.5er's, but this was for the 3.5. I will follow up in February and let you guys know if I hear anything.

FYI: new to posting but not new to the forums.

well for one, the cvt is continuously changing and adjusting itself making any form of readout virtually impossible. furthermore, if the cvt is as complicated in function as is known to be, i could understand technosquare's lack on interest in pursuing a reflash. besides i've spoken to them repeatedly about this 6-9 months ago and typically it's been the same response.

yeah i see what they are saying, in a way the cvt kinda kills the market for this car, IMO, it also slows down our car too

cvt? why not buy a 6speed if you guys were looking to make your cars faster.?who buys an auto to mod? honestly if i did have a cvt i would be doubting the engine or transmission would last long if i added a tuned ecu...

Furthermore, another thing that could be possibly asked is if in fact with the tune for the 6 speed, the same application, or a minor tweak of that application could be applied for the cvts... if the only issue here is the measure of actually change/increase in performance output, then shouldn't the 6 speed's tuning work for the cvt?

Any word from Technosquare recently? Last I spoke to them, they were aiming for mid-February launch for the '08 AC 3.5 ECU tune (manual of course). I saw they are updating their website, so I can't contact them yet.

Also, I found this article about Tadashi Nagata and Technosquare if anyone is interested,

http://www.importtuner.com/tec....html

This may help relieve some fears about sending your ECU +$500 to some nondiscript mailing address.

My ECU got sent in sometime this week. It would have been there sooner, but the guy who was supposed to pull my ECU for me got in a snowboarding accident (I'm deployed overseas). I should hear back from them in about 3 weeks for dyno etc. (For 3.5 MT)

Technosquare received my ECU on Tuesday. I should hear something by the end of the month. I'll keep you guys posted.

Here's a dyno for a stock 350Z for your reference (they say performance improves even more with intake/exhaust etc. but no dyno #s):

No, I've sent them a few emails asking what the status is, but they haven't responded. I'm going to try to find out exactly what's going on in the next couple of days.
