I can't wait until the summer to drive there. I would say that 45-65% of them drift in competitions. And you go to clubloose, I didn't think anyone from nico went there.Chaotic_Warlord wrote:This is how we get down up here in the NJ/Philly area, and the editing is way better than what Rockstar put out.

Yeah it's on a track, but E-Town is a horrid track, plus most of these guys are on the XDC and Semi-Pro circuits. Not to mention everyone here does it because the love it, not to make money or because it's cool.

Sound like fun but I don't know if I can make it because my car won't be insured until the summer, its 3 hours away and I'm still 16. Maybe I can talk my bro into driving down. And do you have a link for this supposed thead?LongBeachCoupe wrote:

I am 100% certain that car is in fact a REAL RWD car. What consists of fake RWD? That tC has it's powering wheels in the back.car nut wrote:
I dislike the tC cause it's not a real rwd car. I don't think they should be in Formula D.
Most of that car doesn't consist of a tc, I would say 85-95% of that car is from different cars.93coupe wrote:

A fwd economy car converted to rwd so Toyota can go drifting and be "in touch" with the tuner crowd/younger generation.93coupe wrote:What consists of fake RWD?
THIS. all of itChaotic_Warlord wrote:The TC is hated because in order for it be RWD you have to completely change the car, so stupid amount of fabrication are involved. While the amount of fab to create it is an awesome endeavor the fact that it's not a plug and play application makes it unattainable by the Average Joe. I don't like a lot of cars that are considered drift cars anymore. If it's not a S Chassis, an RX, a Hachi, or an of the old school japanese tuners/muscle cars then it's not good enough. While Vaugns Mustang is awesome and get the job done with a vengeance it's pretty much the only non Japanese car that I like on the Pro Drift circuit.
I got into a huge argument with J-Rod and a bunch of others on Drifting.com last year about how the FD circuit is just the NASCAR of drifting, they're all about marketing and less about the motorsport, they accept sponsors who have nothing to do with the drifting culture (let alone cars in general) like Sears, Home Depot, Best Buy, etc... All the major sponsors have discarded the cars that made this popular in light of Scion TC's, Porsche 911, Dodge Vipers, Corvettes, and Solstices. While the Solstice is a little rocket and attainable to everyone, it's not a drift car, it's a chick car for cruising down by the beach.
I understand that the Rx7's and S-chassis' of old are old and becoming extinct, but to go and have to rebuild a car from the ground up to convert it from a weak FWD cahssis to a SC NASCAR V8 powered drift monster is a bit far fetched. Utilize what is already out there, the RX8, WRX's, EVO's, 350/370Z's, S2K's, Mustang's, Charger's/Challenger's, and Camaro's. While I don't support the use of Domestic muscle, they do come from the factory pretty much ready to drift and until Nissan builds a a replacement for the S-Chassis and Toyota releases the new Hachi in a couple of years we're stuck with what is out there on the Domestic market.
and ESPECIALLY this, thats why i hate formula D, its too dam commercializedChaotic_Warlord wrote:about how the FD circuit is just the NASCAR of drifting, they're all about marketing and less about the motorsport
the info says "600hp NASCAR V8 powered Scion drift car " ?????naladude911 wrote: How the hell can that scion drift? Its got a RWD conversion?

Drifting refers to a driving technique and to a motorsport where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed. A car is said to be drifting when the rear slip angle is greater than the front slip angle prior to the corner apex, and the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right or vice versa), and the driver is controlling these factors.
