Yep. I said that with a 99 Maxima and since then I have spent probably $60k in the price of two M's and another $15k in the price of parts lol.

Altered,

just bought a used GT Spec front strut bar from a member from the Myg37.com forums. looking at how this install is going to go...passenger side looks to be no problem. How did you get the bracket on for the driver's side - there is a brake line that runs directly over the strut (you can barely see it in the pic above - the black tubing) and the bracket is not open-ended/crescent-shaped like some other manufacturer's bars. Did you unhook the brake line and thread the bracket through so that it could be bolted up? any other tips to getting this on?

I'll have to post a pic to try and illustrate my dilemma if this isn't making sense.

You probably slide the drive side under it (move it slightly) and then do the passenger side is my guess.

I didn't install it myself I had a shop do it. It did not take long though so I don't think it was that bad, maybe the brake line just has to be adjusted a bit?

If it is, that will be a miracle. We stopping carrying the GTSPEC bars because they were always on back order and their communication skills are the worst I have seen...

That is the right part number, and RED DET is right, seriously doubt that these are in stock.

I looked at a few places online, 2/3 were "backordered" indefinitely with no idea when they might actually get it in stock - the 3rd place was charging over $225 + shipping, so never confirmed that they would actually ship it.
I finally stalked the myg37.com private classified ads for a long time and found a guy selling his. I would recommend looking there - you can sometimes get some awesome deals. Just do your homework and make sure the parts are compatible with the M.

I am in the process of repainting the mounting braces and the bar. I did a test fit on the mounting brace for the driver side, got to wiggle it under a brake line to get it in place, but it should fit. Passenger side mount shouldn't be a problem. Not sure about rubbing issues with the bar, we'll see. Definitely don't know about if the geometry/fit for the M56. Will post a How-To once everything is ready.

JMO, but the Tanabe bar appears too thin, but of course there don't appear to be any issues with fitment/rubbing...I like the GT spec bar because like Altered's quote "it's beefy!"

I got the Cusco bar for xmas (best girlfriend ever) so I'll be trying to fit it. My first assessment is that the brake line on the drivers side is really in the way. I'm not sure if I can safely move it enough but I'll try when I get some free time. Any advice on how much bend those brake lines can take?

What needs to be done to make this fitment a success?

I just posted the full write up; but the only thing you need to do is gently lift/slightly bend the brake line up to get the drivers side bracket in place. It doesn't need to move much at all and it's just the shape of the beefy Cusco bar and bracket.

Can't we just make a 1/2", or whatever is required, spacer out of aluminium and get it to work that way.

Desperate M56xS owner lol.
