The S2000 is weird. I hate small cars. I hate 2 seaters. I hate convertibles. I hate buzzy, high-revving engines. I hate four-bangers. But I would love an S2000. All of those things I hate are assembled in a way that WORKS. S2k, Miata, MR2...a handful of goofy sportscars manage to defy my automotive particularities by being damned well-engineered.

But now older with fat retirement accounts and large homes in Texas, NJ, and Florida.

That said, CTS-V is still my favorite sport sedan, even if I don't fit the profile.

My opinion,
MR2 eh no feelings either way
Miata respected race car in a skirt
S2000 the guy who sprayed graffiti on my neighbors block wall a few nights ago :rotfl

this entire thing is Thrify's fault I have been renting convertible 6 cylinder Mustangs on business trips month after month and now I want a convertible.

I was going to say something about a month of driving V6 automatic Mustang convertibles being a great way to destroy my desire to drive for life...but then I remembered that the current Mustang is a pretty decent car, even in V6 form.

The guys with plenty more money are spraying graffiti?

Really, your dislike is more of a phobia - there is no rationality behind it.

Where the HELL do you live that more ricers can afford S2000's rather than MR2's and Miata's?

Alphapig, I think obnoxious ricers cross most income ranges.

The MR-2's are interesting. I have 2 good friends that use 1992 turbo's as track day cars. Like an affordable Lotus Elise that you can easily enter/exit. Very much a well kept secret. But I don't picture Gwoods in one as they are very small.

The manual option on the Mustang and the Camaro (drove 1st year of current body maybe fixed now?) is laughable. Both will upshift for you if you get to redline. The upshifts are painfully slow even compared to my 2007 G35. The 6 sounds fantastic and makes 305 hp 280lb of torque and weighs 3500 lbs. Pretty much the same specs as my 2007 G35 Sedan.

I take pictures of them and send it to the people who work for me and spent their lives at a desk as a reminder that I am out seeing the world in a convertable Mustang while they stare at a computer screen and smell each others farts (maybe I am BMW material?).

You're not BMW material. When it rains, you would close the top and raise the windows. BMW owners don't have to do that as their hot air keeps the rain out.

I -love- the GL, at least as far as how it drives. Hopefully they've improved the onboard tech from the one I drove in late 2011.

Hard to beat the Sequoia and Suburban for space and towing though.

In 2013 the gl450 is a Twin turbo 4.7 v8
0-60 in 6.2 seconds 14.3 1/4@ 96.9 mph

The sequoia does it in 6.5 not bad for almost 6000 pounds of car

To be fair my wife would have liked my xf to be a camry hybrid :ohno: I think I came out okay

Everything is clear now.

What you need to do is buy ME a BMW M roadster.

I drove a 2002 Boxster S at lunch. The M is faster in a straight line. The Boxster handles better. The Boxster looks like a Porsche. The M will be easier to work on. The M has more leg room. I wonder if I could swing both? I found a 1998 M for 9k and a 1997 Boxster for 7k? Neither would be exactly what I wanted but I could figure out which one I liked best if I had to choose between them daily. Meanwhile while in Scottsdale I stop light raced a Audi R8 4.2 in the Jag today and beat it pretty bad and I am sure he was racing and all in. Perhaps after a few weeks of driving a 'slow' roadster I would miss the Jag?

Between the stock market and the new Sequoia my Roadster money is gone for now....

Hertz car sales is selling 2012 GL450's with 20-25k miles on them for 45-52k depending on the miles. You should pick one up Jesda! I would want the new motor so would have to get a 2013.

After the BMW was totaled I vowed to never have a car payment ever again, but I did look on my mom's behalf. She ended up in a QX56 for the feature content, the engine, and the discount coupon from James.

I loath the fender portals but love everything else. It took me 8 months to find my Jag, I have heard production of XF Supercharged was 200 in 2011? Could be Jag doesn't sell that many XF's a year and the XFSC is the least popular middle child. Anyhow, when we took out a M56 on a borrowed car we looked at a 2011 QX56 thinking replace the G with an SUV now then when I find my Jag swap the old Sequoia. I hated the portals and my wife thought the QX56 was too small. The back is rounded to the point it does have slightly less space behind the third row. Here in Phoenix every idiot with a $1000 car and ten bucks to burn has portals.
