Of course, how do ya think he got the picture?SHIFT_2.5S wrote:162 and cruise control?
lol it was a roadtrip, cruise was set ~80mph, punched it for a minute (display still stays on) btw auto transmission, superchips tune, corsa exhaust, didn't use the happy gas on that runSHIFT_2.5S wrote:162 and cruise control?
do u know for a fact that the CVT is just plan a simplely weak at top end or is it a govner not letting it keep going, cause i'm sure theres something out there that can take it off with a chip. and how sure are u about the tires being V rated?Dexion wrote:Back on topic anywayz.
The CVT has already shown it has a weakness at the top end. Check out the 0-120mph video on CVT after around 100 it accelerates very slowly. The 6-speed keep barreling all the way to 143mph. The CVT is limited to 130mph, sorry guys.
The tires are V rated to 148mph
Damn thats a scary thought if a Civic Si creeps up on you with a 3.5 Altima
[edit]here is the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlWYTnaDnK0 Notice after about 90mph it gets very slow, looks like it just BARELY makes it to 120mph
Don't let this happen to you!http://videos.streetfire.net/video/96e5 ... 6f48ff.htm

the 3.5s tires are V rated "93V". Our tires are on the list belowII Knucklez II wrote:and how sure are u about the tires being V rated?
LOL..How freakin true!!! I have an 05 Honda Repsol 1000RR that is modded to the hilt and and a 06 CBR600RR that I use on the smaller technical tracks and I hardly go out riding with my friends anymore. I save all of my aggression for the track but when I'm on public roads, I obey the law! Racing out on public roads (country or city) is just asking fro trouble IMHO but hey, you're the one who knows your limits and you have to pay for the ticket but God for bid something ever happens unexpectedly. Too much variables if you ask me unlike in a control enviroment like a race track.alphapig wrote:Couldn't agree with you more...
I have a Honda CBR600, and all of my friends are squids (those young guys you see stunting/racing with nothing but T-shirts on).
After doing a few track days I never go riding with them any more... After pushing yourself in a controlled environment, the stupid risks people take on the street become very apparent.
Track days save lives!
Nice 162 is pretty fast I had My 02 RSX up to 145 and my 01 R6 171 and my 04 GSXR 1000 192mph indicated speeds +-3% error when dealing with digital speedos at that speedTheBourneAltimatum wrote:

212mph - 05 Repsol - Elmira airport runway, last leg of the toys for tots ride. My racebike and it's not stock. A lot HRC components!Juiced06 wrote:what athe fastest youve gone and in what!!!
I was starting to wonder, didn't realize people were talking about the CVT. I know my 6 Spd 3.5 still pulls hard in 4th at 100mph.Dexion wrote:Back on topic anywayz.

Actually, the reduction in throttle is to help protect the fragile CVT more than anything.boston824 wrote:Hello all, Noob here.
I am not interested in pushing my vehicle beyond its limits. However, with that said, i do not believe that it is up to any corporation to regulate how I use my vehicle. Today there are so many modifications that we can perform, and tires are so much better than they once were.
Nissan spent a lot of money on developing a CVT transmission and invented more into restricting the speed of the CVT, when putting a better tire on the vehicle would have been much cheaper.
I have a more reasonable reason for the restriction-
Restricting our speed would reduce our fuel usage, reducing our necessity for fossil fuel from the Middle East.
LOL
