God I loved how this thing sounds. So much better. And surprisingly I DID feel more of a throttle response, though I dunno about its claim on 8 HP. I know this because I live on a steep hill and before I would barley just hit 40. Now it goes up to 45 mph.

I will say the end of the pipe could have been shortened just by an inch since my filter is barley touching the battery.

Just a side note: if anyone decides to get a Takeda or just any intake, once you hook up the battery, you will have to re-learn the auto. windows UP function. Plus, somehow my gas tank range went up from 28x to 32x at 3/4 tank. Hopefully this gives me better fuel economy, even if its by 1 or 2.

Now... would I have gotten the same effect had I gone with an ebay knock off brand? Maybe. I would imagine the pipe not mounting against the throttle body correctly, for instance or the hole being to small for the air sensor. Someone would have to be the guinea pig to test it out. Is it worth the $180? I'd say so.....so far.

Now, if I have to bring my car to the dealership for ANY reason, even if its something to do with the interior of the car, would they be checking my engine for aftermarket parts such as this that'll void the warranty?

I'm a little out of my league here, but did you need to re-flash anything/re-tune? I assume the engine mapping will change with a new intake.

The dealer has to prove that the after market product caused the defect.

Therefore, under the laws of the United States an automobile warranty is only inapplicable if the manufacturer proves that the aftermarket part was the cause of the defect/damage.

But because the intake is such a sensitive part of the car, a problem with the engine could potentially be linked to the intake.

Here's my eBay intake. Had no fitment problems whatsoever. I haven't been able to test if it's faster or not, although it might feel a bit quicker to me the only way I can tell for sure is if I race one of my buddies who I've raced before.

No I didnt. Just unhook the battery and the ecu resets itself once you connect it again. Thats another reason to unhook the battery when installing the intake, since the sensor will be reading the air intake much more differently.

Ah, perfect, thats what I'm looking for. Then I'm set. Good thing is that I can easily swap the stock intake on with in 20 mins.

Note to self: carry spare screws

What I like about your intake is that you had the filter pointing down. I couldve done the same but since it has mounting bracket I didnt really have an option. The plus side is Takeda threw in the cold air pipe that connects to your stock air duct piece.

1) Warranty: Google Magnuson Moss Warranty Act
2) You dont have to re-flash your ECU, however you should perform an idle re-learn.

3) Filter pointing down and "Takeda cold air pipe" are irrelevant. A true cold air intake has its roots in the front bumper or way down underneath the engine bay. If your filter is IN the engine bay, you do not have cold air flowing through your intake.

Of course it doesnt function as a true CAI. But thats what they labeled the part as, so i didn't know how else to put it. It's more of an extension from the air duct.

I haven't had any idling issues yet, unless you're just recommending it. Otherwise, it idles fine.
