this was one of the ideas i had also. i actually ended up taping up my friends g35 tail lights jus like that lol it honestly doesnt look bad on his but i didnt try it on mine yet...

i actually think it would look pretty cool but i would make the tint really dark so the only thing you see it the red circles lit up

Exactly what I was planning on doing, but before that I might need a little assistance. Are there templates or such for getting the angles to much up? The first post just shows a straight shot, but because of the angle of the tail lights, I'm having issues stencilling the covers to match that. Any advice? I think I just spent about 2 hours trying to figure it out.

I tried to do the reverse light but even that's kind of... crooked?

Also, I want to thank everyone for the input and helping me out with this! I very much appreciate it.

rcboy514 left his reverse lights unpainted. I'll link his post below but seems like he just cut circles and threw them on. You can ask him see if he added any material to compensate for the bend of the light.

UPDATE: So more than likely I'll end up removing it; unfortunately it didn't come out the way I had wanted it, and upon removing the covers there are more imperfections than I had thought. Because of the size of the area that covers the reflector, removing the tape showed any small deformities in the covering with the tape.

Maybe as a vinyl this will really work... Maybe.

Thanks again for all your help everyone.

Got bored and tried it lol. You gave me the idea so I vinyl Wrapped a Taillight today. Did it quickly as a test run, took an hour to do.

I want to change the circles to smaller and I'm going to cut it on a better surface to make better cuts. If this goes well I will be selling Vinyl Taillight cutouts for this job, or at least Vinyl and a Stencil Provided.

So I still have the paint on both tail lights, and I ended up doing something similar with the turn signals. My reason? My roommate works in law enforcement, and he told me that while the brake lights and reverse is nice, more than likely impairing the turn signal will get you busted. What I ended up doing was taping off a small portion and just used Rubbing Alcohol to take off the paint... I'll send a picture when I get home.

PHENO, I like how dark that is; when you get it all worked out, hit me up.
