yeah, gli liphon, a member on the forums is making custom led tails. i guess you got the ebay ones.

i go to richmond once in a while, for meetings. but not often. there's a few black coupe's out there, but none that i know of are debadged like mine. i removed my tailight tint last weekend and i'll be putting a new set on soon because of my crappy first install

i'm going to do it myself again, this time i've got some experience.. my 2nd light came out much better than my 1st one. and it was the right side light which i did first which was peeling, my left light was fine. but i wasn't exactly going to remove one tailight overlay and leave it on the other

i bought a 2nd set of overlays from LBC right after i installed them, just haven't had the time to do it yet

cool, i do need a second person to help with holding the hair dryer, aka ghetto heat gun. last time just had a friend of mine help me, but he wasn't any kind of a car enthusiast so he got bored after doing one and had to get my dad to help me with the 2nd cause he bailed on me

you might want to come check it out when i install just for the experience of how it's done so that you have a good idea of how to do it when/if you get a set.

they look way better with overlays.. i really eager to get my tailight tints back on.. i kinda really don't like my car without them.

nah never, probably because i have the lighter 3/10 tint so you can barely tell i have them tinted. i thought i might get in some cop trouble too, having HID's and tinted tails, but nothing so far... knock on wood*

nah i haven't tried the gtr, not my cup of tea.

depending on how much you're buying your led tails for, you might want to consider buying some from gli liphon, his come tinted from the inside which is way better than an overlay.

ya i saw your posts on the bc coil, but you shouldn't be afraid, i thought the whole point of having coilovers is that they're adjustable, so when winter comes, just adjust them back to stock height. aint that how they work??

how dark are you going for tint? the darker or the lighter version? with the lighter 3/10 tint, i'd say go full coverage, you can barely tell it's tinted but it looks 100x better than stock. you can check out comparison pics of my car on my photobucket page if you want, photobucket.com/tonychanman

I would strongly suggest seeing someone else do it like Blackmobile is saying. I bought a clear bumper for the front of my car and it is a NIGHT and DAY difference between the first side I put on and the second side. (You start in the midle then I worked out the driver then passanger side). The drivers side started pealing within a week where the passengers looked perfect till I took it off.

There is NOTHING like experience when it comes to this...same with window tint...you just need to get the knack of it and that comes with experience.

Plus 2 guys is a must for the tails. I had 3 (2 and me) do the bumper and that worked well.

yeah i love the look of my tints.. looks nicer than stock but not dark enough to attract unwanted attention. but side by side you can totally tell the difference.

and yeah, i have the racingline grounding kit. 6 wires and it's a really pretty blue i'm hoping to paint my engine cover this summer blue as well, maybe some other parts like the fuse box cover and so on

yeah he needed someone with a 3.5 for the grounding kit last i spoke to him. have you met joe before? he's a great guy, very helpful and good to talk to. the grounding kit for my car didn't yield anything significant, since i only have the 2.5 and my car being very new with base radio, i don't really have much power draw issues. but for anyone with a 3.5 i'm sure they'd see better results, especially if you get stillen's underdrive pulley or have an aftermarket stereo. then again i don't have any power boosting mods on my car (ie. intake, exhaust), so it's hard to tell.

if you want to do your tails darker, then go for the 6/10 overlay from either LBC or bluebatmobile, or you could always paint them to get exactly what shade you want. if you want to see them darker, you can check out bluebatmobile.net and take a look at his gallery.

yeah i'm trying to find a set too, but can't seem to get a hold of any. nothing local anyways. and i don't plan on getting anything that big and expensive shipped from the US, the shipping costs and duties will probably cost more than the rims

i agree with you on the local cops though, they can be really picky. i'm just really glad they havn't given me any trouble for my tinted tails and HID kit. altima777 from surrey got gold powdercoated nismos, but he paid like.. 1600 or so for everything

Totally up to you man. it's your car and you should do what you think looks nice on it, so if you prefer the matte black then you should leave it unpainted and maybe save some cash at the same time. i think either would look nice, i'm thinking of getting a pair as well sometime, maybe... still undecided on it. I'd probably get them color matched though, just my preference if i had to choose.

by the way, do you have a set of new rims? i'm trying to find something but i'm unsure where i can get the best deal

How much was the grounding kit from Racingline? I don't think they're listed on their website for our car. I was thinking of going with the fabricator Sentinel from Nico for the kit.

For rims and what not, be prepared to spend quite a bit if you're going to go through a store. 1010tires has some pretty decent prices, they supply to Volcom Tires, and maybe you can check that out. I recently just picked up a set of G35 7 spoke wheels... going to be my summer project refinishing them up.

Just for reference, tint is described usually by the amount of light that can go through. So when you say 3/10 that's pretty dark, I think you mean 70%.

on the tint i hear ya, but that's how LBC describes his overlays, as a lighter 3/10 tint or a darker 6/10 tint. i always thought it was kinda backwards..

yeah i'm going the used route for rims and tires. i've come across some decent deals but havn't found the right one yet. wheels west seems to have some good prices on tires, haven't really asked them about rims yet though. there's another company, advanced autosports who has sent me a list of 18" rims with tires for $1k plus tax which are not bad.. though i just got ding'ed for a $325 speeding ticket this weekend so i might have to put off getting some rims for a while.

as for racingline's grounding kit, it's not available yet, i volunteered my car for measurement for Joe so as far as I know i'm the only one who has racingline's grouding kit (for the 2.5) so far. I think he mentioned somewhere that his grounding kit will be $70 bucks or something, but don't quote me on that i have a terrible memory i'm gonna see him today and i'll ask him and update you on the cost

Tint is ALWAYS quoted as the amount of light allowed to pass thru... Heres a good example... I have 15% on the front 2, and 4% on the rear 2 and rear windshield.
