The Firestone SZ50EP's are truly awesome, aren't they! :)

I am just a bit disappointed that they do not make one that I can use on my M45 (this car needs 235/45-18 or 245/45-18 tires to fit the 18x7.5 rims - I wish that Infiniti had put 18x8 or 18x8.5 as standard rims on the M45, by the way).

Z is correct. The Tire and Rim Association is the group that sets the guidelines. The whole system is in the progress of overhall thanks to Congress and the whole Explorer situation. With any luck we will start seeing more realistic pressure and load ratings from the car companies and no more SUVs with a suggested pressure of 26 psi :rant Don't get me started on that one....

Z put together a copy of the load tables for us and Chet is working on getting it in a format where we can post it in the FAQ. I'll post instructions on how to calculate the load ratings based on the O.E. tires and the new tire size so you can match the actual load.

Chet,

If you need the load tables data in some specific format, let me know and I will see if I can get it into that form to ease your task!

Z, haven't seen that information at their website, but it is rather inscrutable. My concern is that facts are being thrown around without any accountable sources being cited.

I am not a fan of hearsay and innuendo.

Actually the standard tire guide that contains the tables is available to look at at any local tire shop. We worked out a way to get the tables converted into a form we could link here. I was unable to find any online source for the tables. It's not like this is some type of conspiracy here and we aren't just making this stuff up. Honest! :) If it's that much of a concern, just go to any local tire shop and ask to see a tire guide and I'm sure they will let you look at the load tables. They are pretty straight foreward...

Grant, thanks. I'll be glad to scan the tables if necessary. Are these published by TRA? Maybe I'll check with Phil Smith at Les Schwab when I get out there. My local Discount Tire is closer, so that may be first.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

Good Stuff™! Let me know if I can help with another format that makes it easier. I have it in Excel now ... :)
