EXCELLENT info, like you I've been using Mobil 1 extended 10w30, never had any issues with this oil.

FWIW, I do 3750 mile changes on my oil and filter. With Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W-40, yes, but I believe I would be just fine doing this with a good dino 5W-30 oil (like Castrol GTX or Chevron Supreme), if I was concerned about the cost of the synthetic.

So, you're not doing syn to extend the time between oil changes. Is it safe to assume you use syn because you believe it's better for the engine's internals?

I also change my Mobil 1 Syn between 3K & 4K and use it because I've heard that my engine will like it better. less wear & more HP

The 2nd and 3rd/4th owners of your cars will really appreciate your thoughfulness and kindness.

Just as many of us have learned to appreciate the JDM junkyard engines for the quality of Japanese oils and frequent changes and maintenance they receive.

US oil and poor consumer mainteance can always be FIXED by swapping an engine.

Whatever oil you use has a hard time overcoming 20 years of ABUSIVE cold cranks.

The recommended oil change interval for my 06 is 3500 mi on dino, not 7500 mi.

I would always run synthetic. Mobil 1 is not a true synthetic, but it is still a great oil and better than any conventional. The local wal-mart here in NC does now sell Royal Purple street formula.
