Well, I had my Versa's first oil change yesterday at 3,550 miles. Although my dealer wanted what I considered an exorbitant amount for a synthetic oil change, they did allow me to bring in my own oil and oil filter and subtracted those material costs from the price of their regular oil change. The resulting price was very reasonable, but my guess is this consideration was due to the fact that I bought the car from them.
I ended up having Mobil 1 5w30 synth oil put in along with a Pure One oil filter. Before my next oil change I'll decide whether to stick with Mobil 1 or switch possibly to Quaker State Q Advanced, which is a newer product that was not included in the Motor Oil Bible. Of the specs that are provided, the Q Advance compares fairly well with the Valvoline SynPower and Castrol Syntec with a pretty good CCS spec.
