I dont know if "new" oil is gonna remove a grind. It might mask it.

Personally theyre both great oils just personal opinion.

You put it in and then it started? I thought you meant after a while.

Theyre both oils, if you dont mind spending the money. Try it out. Synchromesh may give you a better viscosity.

no no no no no

80w90 gear lube or 75w90 gear lube

atf is for automatic transmisions, get that stuff out of there, and tell your V8 buddies to go drink some leaded 82 octane

I use Valvoline 80W90 cheap stuff in my transmission and it's great. Others swear by Redline MT90. Either one will be good for you.

i forget where, but i think i remember reading that the syncromesh will wear out the trans prematurely.

anyone care to back this claim up with proof?

Try mixing GM Syncromesh with some Redline Shockproof. I've heard that 2 parts Syncromesh and 1 part Redline works great for honda trannies, so maybe try 50/50?

its the GL rating that makes a difference, all of the fluids u guys are listing are a GL-5 rating, when the nissan trannies require a GL-4 rated fluid, when not using the GL-4 fluid, u chance wearing out the syncros prematurely, nissan says nothing but GL-4 should go into thier trannies!it took me about 6 months to figure this out after i toasted my sr transmission. it started off as a grind then it started not allowing me to shift into 2nd, then 5th i was running mobil1syn. GL-5 so i had to swap it out for a KA with the SR bellhousing on it, i got this stuff from my work that is made by BG, its rated at GL-4 80w90 so that is what i use now, i dont know if everyone can get this fluid or not, we get it thru a dealer who comes by our shop

Redline shock prrof in the lightweight is the be all and end all for SR gearboxes. run an extra liter and extend the breather up to the firewall.

MOTUL gear 300 is a close second, i dont rate royal purple.
