Does anyone here have any experience with them? I had them on, but they burnt out in like a month or so. I went back to the regular halogen and they've lasted waaay longer. Is there any particular reason they blew so fast? They're like $20/headlight.

Im debating on doing a H4/HID conversion, but I really liked the sylvania stars.

you should write or call the company, maybe they'll send you a reimbursement or new pair or something.

I have the Silverstars, had them on since Jan this year or maybe last year. Don't recall. How come they burnt out so fast for you? Must of been a defect......unless you touched the bulbs with your fingers. The dirt from your digits will make them blow prematurely.

Anyhow, i like them. They're pretty bright... but i miss my Piaa Extreme H4's.. those succers were brighter than the freakin' sun. I loved it. I got high-beamed on a weekly basis (man were they sorry when i highbeamed back). Those only lasted for a year and a few months. (sucks because a pair is $80)

I guess I'll give em' another shot.

Do ya'll think I should do the H4 headlight conversion first? Or just to the oem replacement silverstars?

Siverstars are a GREAT bulb for any Nissan (sensitive wiring)...

They're actually brighter than the (same wattage) PIAA's and several others, but folks don't believe you when you tell 'em that.

I've extensively used Piaa's, and even Catz's bulbs. The Silverstars did have a write-up in SCC a year ago comparing them to Piaa Platinums, they DO have a longer perimeter than the Piaa's. But one thing i liked about the Piaa's was their intensity, they could like up road markings and signs extremely well. (maybe even painfully--if you were using the 'Extremes').

I'm assuming you have an S13, well the Silverstars do have replacement headlights (the whole unit). You can only replace the bulb itself if you have a aftermarket unit that lets you take the bulb out. That's what i have, i have Eurolite 'diamond-cut' headlights, they bolt in, and also come with little 194 bulbs inside too. PDM-racing.com also has some single piece Hella H4 lights that bolt-in too. Check it out.

Yeah, thats what I was talking about. I had the silverstars already, but someone recommended that I do the H4 conversion and just get the silverstar bulbs instead of the regular OEM replacement silverstars. Do you think I should do the H4 conversion or just keep doing the oem replacement headlights?

The replacement lamps for S13's are H6054's I believe.

PIAA bulbs are overpriced and overrated. 55W=110W of lighting? Keep dreaming.

PIAA (among other brands like Hiper, Matrix and Eurolite) bulbs are tinted blue/purple, filtering out the rest of the light. therefore not 100% of the light is getting to the road.

yeah it's tight. But if you pull back the rubber to see how the connector goes in then push the release tab pull towards the back of the vehicle. that will dissconnect the wiring harness, then twist the light bulb to remove it from the heatlight assembly. the next time you won't have to remove the rubber water barrier to change it since you know how it remove it.

I am wanting to get SilverStar's in my S13, Just wondering if anyone has any reccomendation on whether I should get the OEM replacements or the H4 conversion, I know this has been asked but I never saw an answer. But, if I do get replacements, does anyone know about the $5 and $7 conversion sets on Ebay? They have the little blue "city light" What does this light actually do and could it be taken out and the hole plugged? I just think it looks ricey. If anyone has these conversions and either has the "city light" hooked up or removed or if it looks like it would be easy to remove, please let me know..

My car came with 'em in the low beams, I like them fine, no burn out problems, not terribly bright though...I have to drive w/my brights on quite a lot.

I intend to go get genuine HIDs at some point, but that's a pretty low priority, all things considered. In the meantime, I'll likely stick with the Sylvanias.

I bought a pair of sealed beam Silverstars for my S13. First one blew out after a couple weeks, I replaced it. Then the other blew out shortly after and I replaced that one. It's been going good so far with the 2 newer ones, we'll see how long they last.
