Here's some pics of my swap progress! Started out by ripping the complete harness out of one of my parts cars and swapping it into the drifter. next we swapped in the CA18DET engine harness in. Luckily the harness had already been modified for the swap, so all the neccessary connectors were ready to go! We then put the motor in the bay. Extra special thanks to Brandon and the Teets Bros. for coming out and lending thier hands (and drinking all the beer lol!)

It's actually starting to look like a CAR! Now I need to wait for the flywheel bolts to come in. Friday I plan on taking the flywheel to CarQuest to get it resurfaced and ordering a clutch. I'll be ordering a SPEC stage 2 or 3, havent decided yet. Also got an SR20 T25 turbo and XS turbo dump and downpipe coming in this week!

Still have lots of work to do and lots of parts to order. I promise to take more pics when we are acually working on the car next time. Stay tuned...

Well done. Its hard for you guys to put JDM engines into your USDM chassis. Down here in Australia CAs and SRs just drop in. And they are relatively cheap here as well. Keep up the good work!

Not really, its pretty easy actually. If you can install a car stereo, you can rewire a harness.

Dude. Look at all the random garbage in her car. I'm pretty sure there's a McDonalds cup there. Which means that there's a McDonalds bag there somewhere as well. Probably chock full of french fries and MEAT.

I wasn't aware Megan Racing made a manifold for the CA, must be some ultra-rare part for the clean engine that "runs fine" Anyway I love how this thread went from swap pics to ripping on fat chicks. Oh well, the swap looks like it's coming along nicely.

Quoted By Josh

"Actually the following happened.

1. you said it was for a CA initially.2. The clutch alignment tool you bought3. you sat there and bitched abuot why it was taking so long4. you ****** ricer friend showed up with his strobes flashing almost giving me a seizure5. you went into my garage and looked at my **** and said "hey my turbo is better then that one" *refering to my gt2540-86*6. you finger ****ed the skyline7. your friend almost blew himself up adding octane boost to his seizure mobile8. you complained more because it was taking so long and you where going to be late to your ricer meet9. your fat *** owes me a new drill cause mine was burnt out drilling holes into the pressure plate to make you ka clutch work for a CA10. you claimed you didnt understand why your clutch went out in the first place, you said you never went to the track or did launches.. yet you had track numbers on your quarter window (and when you left you dumped the clutch at like 7 grand... whore)11. it only took 8 hours which in my book was pretty good for jason and I being pissed off and outraged because of your dumbass mistake12. who had 20 grand in the bank? not I.. I work and pretty much spend all of my play money that I save on cars13. you are a ugly whore14. I hate you16. I hope you are impregnated by a space alien and when you give birth the alien baby shoots out your rib cage and smacks you in the face with a wet sloopy bag of boners and sea beasties17. you are a whore18. you owe me a new drill19. take the skyline pictures off your whorespace20. Did I mention you are a fat ugly whore and I dont like you?21. Oh, and go buy me a new drill22. You arnt going to be banned or this thread locked... especially since jason is in miami at nopi and he needs to chime in... oh, brandon to cause he helped out more then I did with the clutch.."

you might be unhappy with the clutch engagement and pedal feel. The reason... You need to have a small step machined into the flywheel. Raising the clutch off the flywheel a little and giving the pressure plate my clamping force.

hmmm.. how will engagement differ from not stepping the flywheel?

i just got done reading the flywheel resurface thread and it said the step is only .004" i bled my clutch last weekend and the engagement point is about 2/3 down and it feels pretty good (SPEC Stage 4). i think i'm going to just leave it the way it is.

here's my new Mishimoto 2 row aluminum radiator and Flex-A-Lite dual 12" elec fans w/thermostat....the fans fit almost perfectly; i had to cut a notch in the fans right under the inlet on the radiator, but otherwise the setup looks sexy as ****.car with intercooler/radiator..intercooler might be moved up a few inches..

and now for the **** that pushes my buttons...

here's the problem with the intercooler kit i got. the cold side pipe looks like its for a KA or s13 SR. apparantly all the ca18 kits come like this..

and the front swaybar i recieved looks like it was damaged during shipping. the packaging was kind of half-assed...

i hate it when dumb **** like getting the wrong pipe or damage during shipping happens. it really ****s with getting my car together and proves to be 1000x more difficult to resolve. now im going to have to ship stuff back, wait for it to come back to me and hope they send the right part or nothing gets damaged. plus all the aggrevation and bull**** i have to go through. grrrr. anyways, hopefully i'll have another progress report next weekend.
