oh and also SUV's don't suck. it is the driver of SUV that sucks. most people well should i say unexprienced drivers buy SUVs as a wanted not needed option. Why? becuase probability of survival in SUVs are higher due to their higher momentum. and who absorbs or takes that hit of energy??

People who drive small/lighter cars like you and me.

you will even get a better car later on. Just listen to your father and let him handle all the lawsuit and everything. make sure that lady's insurance pays you to cover for all the damages well. i know for a fact that she simply wasn't paying attention to the road. you always gotta keep your eyes on the road.

remember, if you've been injured, call JAY and the associates

just kidding, hope you get better.

P.S. we need some pics bud, all the pics actually. it will be create a bit fear in NICO members and remind them to drive carefully.
I agree with you, I'm sure she wasn't paying attention. She couldn't have been because the car's a bright color, I have good bulbs in my headlights, and I had my underbody neons on at the time(which i usually don't). I will definitely get the pics of the car afterwards up soon, just have to wait for her insurance company to go look at the car, and my friends will go get what electronics can be saved and take pics with my digital camera. It is a shock. I think it just goes to show that you need to expect other drivers to do the most stupid things they could possibly do because sometimes they will!

This sucks. I got hit by an 18-wheeler last year in the driver's door in my S13 and only got a bruise. I was lucky, but I guess you were too.

I know the same guy as Nissandrift was talking about, selling a '97 SE. '96s and '97s should have an exemption on them for OBD2 inspections. The computer can't communicate with the ECU (in the '98s it can). The guy selling the car is a Nissan Tech, he understands it more than me (he also has another '97 that he's done multiple setups on).

If you want to get in tough with him just contact me. I know you're bored right now anyway (not being able to move).

Geez that's a rough story. I'm glad you're still here with us but....whew. That is just terrible. It's so frustrating that you can just be minding your own business and practically get taken off the face of the earth by someone who looks down to adjust thier radio for a second and stuff like that. My condolences, and here's to a quick recovery.

i'll keep an eye out here in Southwest VA. We get the occasional S14 passing through. One of my friends just got hooked up with a beautiful blue-ish purple '95 with no motor. Unfortunately, we've already started an SR swap to sell the car.

Btw, did the lady in the SUV run her light? She must have been screaming through that intersection to have done that much damage.

One of my friends fell asleep while driving on New Years Eve coming back from Charlette. He ended up driving into the median and flipped his Blazer a couple of times. The entire roof of the truck was smashed in. He survived because his seat back broke and he was tossed into the back. He survived the initial wreck with no injuries. The only thing that happened to him was he broke his arm trying to smash his passenger window to get out.

Sorry it's taken me this long to reply, I just got back from a car show in SC. The lady who hit me didn't run her light, because it was green both ways, but not a protected left green arrow, just general green. But people turning left are supposed to yield to oncoming traffic, so I think she just thought if she really stepped on the gas, she could make it. We figured she really had to have been going fast, the way the car looks. Her Jeep came out all right though. Wow, that's amazing about your friend and his Blazer! I can't believe that if he hadn't had to break his window he'd have had no injuries! I thought I was lucky, but that's really lucky!

Glad you're ok. Thats the problem with American driving: no one can wait! Most times if someone would have just waited, it would have only been a 5-10 second longer wait!

Take it easy for a while and somethine better will come along. Everything happens for a reason regardless of how much things suck.

Once again, glad you're ok.

Thats terrible!!..

I noticed SUV drivers are among the most inattentive when the opposite should be the case, given that they cause more damage and have more blind spots in trafic and are hardest to trhow back on course...

Only highly qualified and well-tested drivers shoudl drive them yet I observe some of teh weakest drivers pick them...

Probably because a good driver will pick a vehicle that rewards his skill and poor drivers donty as they have no skill to be rewarded bya responsive vehicle.

Fred..

PS: Nissan/Infiniti SUV's are an exception due to their unusally good brakes and control and handling/steering

the big thing is that unsafe drivers don't realize that it's not the vehicle that is unsafe, but the driver that is unsafe. They would rather drive a large, heavy battering ram because they feel safer in a ute than in a car. Now you've put a bad driver in a vehicle that requires better driving skills just due to the nature of the beast.

I forgot to say in my last post that I should have "after" pics of my car up tomorrow. My mom is taking me to my car sometime so I can uninstall my Walbro, the S-afc2 and my CD player. I am going to bring my digital camera so when I get home I can load the pics. I will probably start a new thread since this one is getting a little long. It was funny, my dad got most of the stuff out of my car and he handed me the detachable face from my CD player and said "here's your CD player". He was being serious! I didn't want to be mean, so I just said thank you and added that to my own list of things to get. I asked my mom if I could put the TRD supercharger on her Toyota Sienna van during my downtime and she said sure, and asked if that meant she could "park it like it's hot". I think my younger brother and sister have been playing their radio stations on the way home from school instead of her usual classical music!

are you gonna grab the motor out of the car? it would be a shame to see it go to a salvage yard (assuming it wasn't damaged in the accident)

i wish i could, but from what i've been told, it's not salvageable. In the ER, I asked my now-ex boyfriend if anything could be saved and he said "maybe your taillights". I haven't seen the car up close, but wow, from the pictures, and from my best friend driving me by, the motor's got to be ruined. That sucks, because I only had about 10,000 miles on it. I was told that it was partially forced through the firewall on impact, in fact, part of the firewall might have been what cut my leg where I got my stitches.

I really dislike SUV driving retards for the most part... especially when they put their daughter, Little Miss Rottencrotch in a 3.5 ton road Panzer set to destroy.

God forbid I ever want to feel somewhat safe in an ECONOMICAL car. I forgot that Mr. Rottencrotch needs his 8 mpg land yacht 4x4 all-terrain armored personel carrier so his co-workers thinks he has a bigger paycheck than what he really brings home.

I think it's time for me, James, and Greg to build Project Mad Max. It involves a 1982 GMC Suburban, quad 4" solid steel pipe bumpers, full roll cage, death black paint job with flames, a built to hell 1471-Weiand BLOWN 800cid V8 with open headers venting through the hood, PIAA roof mounted stadium lighting, 51" tall Mud terrains, 3' lift with quad shock assemblies, 2" thick solid steel skid plates with death to roadkill spikes, extremely loud and annoying Death metal anthem playing out of a 50,000 watt sound system, and a "Hows my driving" sticker on the back.

Lets see Mr. SUV try to muscle his tonka truck in front of Project Mad Max ... I hope he does cause I need someone to mount to the hood for the complete Mad Max / Roadwarrior effect. I hope their family sees them on the front of my death sled as I pass by wearing the latest in post-apocalyptic bondage wear with old football armor and a raging mohawk. Drag off the bodies and leave them in an old well so James can taunt them with a basket full of lotion and bad Silence of the Lambs quotes. Greg shall man the 10,000 lbs. winch system that shall be known as "the scalper" and immediately wrap it around unsuspecting SUV owner's axles. I will laugh as their axle is ripped from the chassis and drug down the street only to be used against other SUV owners like a giant flail.

Every morning I will wake up to wash the blood off with my garden hose and paint the silhouette of yet another SUV kill on the fender.

I was just laughing at the first part, not the blood part or anything. I don't want anyone to get hurt, I just wish there was a law where only people who actually know how to drive would be allowed to drive SUVs. They do have that commercial on TV now about SUVs, has anyone seen that besides me?

Yeah I saw it at the movies last night.

Funny commercial I must add.

BTW, the whole project mad max bit was just a bit of imagination... nothing more. As appealing as it sounds, killing idiots doesn't exactly rank very high on my priority list.

You should come to Austin where 17 yr old girls working at Sonic as a car hop are driving $40k+ 4x4 Excursion Turbo Diesels. I bet that really teaches her about financial responsibility

If you tried to kill every idiot driver in austin, you'd be tired before you got down ceasar chavez.

austin drivers aren't as bad as san antonio drivers at least.

That sucks about the motor...at least try to grab the seats from the car. Us lowly S13 owners like them

Not all of us SUV drivers are bad. And as a good SUV driver I despise those commercials. Of course I want to run most of the women driving SUVs off the road.

That's crazy, putting a 17 year old in an SUV when they've just started driving and are so inexperienced. My parents told me I could have whatever vehicle I wanted as long as it wasn't a convertible or an SUV, because they'd researched the rollover rate on SUVs. Here it's like that too, though, my sister's boyfriend, who is 16, drives around in his mom's Yukon most of the time and a lot of her friends drive SUVs.

by the way on the suv thing, a girl at my high school last year rolled not one, but two suburbans, within like 4 months of each other

so her parents bought her a mercedes
