Anybody using their mounts? They keep pushing back the release date and I keep asking for pictures, but they don't have any. I don't want to buy without seeing pictures. Anybody have pics of the mounts or an installation using them?

I purchased their mounts. Im still waiting for my engine though so I havent been able to try them. What other problems are there with the mounts other than the holes are drilled wrong? PM me or send me a message on AIM if you wish: VaultGod

btw, i have pictures of the mounts here:http://filebox.vt.edu/users/dafritz/

From what I understand kamin is using an RB20 transmission on a rb25 using the STMS kit. Its made for the rb25 motor/transmission. The Rb20 transmission is different.

lets get something straight

the RB20 transmission has the SAME bolt up problems as the RB25 when you use the r33 crossmember. shifter is 1.5 inches too far forward and the mount dosent line up.

AND those problems i speak of were NOT RELATED TO MY CAR. they were related to my friend i mentioned above. rb25 transmission and motor.

even if it did matter, the motor still dosent move the 1.5 inches back they promised. and that has nothing to do with the transmission.

THOSE MOUNTS ARE PRETTY GHETTO, I COULD MAKE THOSE IN MY BACKYARD. KAMIN IS CORRECT THE MOTOR MOUNTS DETERMINE WHERE THE transmission SITS. ALTHOUGH THAT KIT IS DESIGNED FOR THE RB25 transmission IT SHOULD WORK WITH THE RB20 transmission.

I should have checked before I said something. I thought the Rb20 tanny had different mounts than the 25 transmission. I apologize. They say they are using the same kit for there car and I saw pics of it and it all looks legit. Could be wrong.

Well this is bad news. I guess I'll have to go with Mickinney mounts after all. Damn, maybe I shouldn't have just spent $2200 on wheels.

I don't want to have to cut the hood, or spacer the sway bar, or anything like that. I was considering making my own mounts, but I don't have time right now, I'd like to get it running soon. I was going to use stock mounts for now, then make my own later, but then I realized the driveshaft will be too long.

Ideally, I'd like mounts that use the stock RB crossmember and isolators, like STM's. That seems like the easiest and most failsafe method to me.

HOOD SKELETON WILL HIT THE CAM COVERTHE transmission CROSSMEMBER WILL ONLY LINE UP WITH TWO BOLT HOLES (ON RB25 ONLY)DUMP PIPE WILL RUB STEERING ARM (FREE FIX: LOSSEN THE RACK BUSHING CLAMPS AND STEERING FLEX KNUCKLE AND ROTATE THE RACK FORWARD TILL THE STEERING ARM CLEARS)GEAR SHIFT WILL SIT FORWARD ANYWHERE FROM 1/2 TO 1 1/2 INCHES FORWARD (EXAMPLE MY RB20 SITS 1/2 INCH FORWARD W/ NO CLEARANCE ISSUES OR COMFORT COMPRIMISED)

ON THE RB20 AND 25 I LOOKED AT IT WAS THE FRONT COVER AND THE BOV SO THEY TOOK THE ENTIRE HOOD TRIANGLE OUT.

MY RB20 HITS BOTH WE EVEN DID THE BABY POWDER AND MASKING TAPE TRICK AND THEY WERE BOTH HITTING.

No no no. Im not saying you are. There is just a lot of people talking about the swap that dont even know anything about it. You know that. Thanks for your help. I heard if you dont use the kit, the bell housing will rub the underbody of the car.

THAT WAS NOT AN ISSUE IN MY CASE OR THE RB25 INSTALL I LOOKED AT, AND IF IT RUBS GENTLY TAP THE TUNNEL UP FOR CLEARANCE.
