Well, not THICK white smoke, you could see through it, it was that thin. Reading through a search of the Nissan Online Mechanic I think it is most likely rich running. I will diagnose the problem better. I let the car sit over the weekend, so that is probably why it did it so bad today. I will diagnose it better tomorrow after work.

Uh, dude - NO.

Stop.

Your car is slow. No amount of abuse is gonna change that.

Just do some maintenance - get it running the way it did when it was new. That's gonna give you the most HP per dollar right now.

I really hope Geo was kidding about that powerbraking post. It generates a huge amount of heat in your transmission, bad bad bad. And dont do the rev high and pop into neutral thing either.

On another note - I still can't seem to "shave a second" off my 1/4. I've gone through countless tornado's and cone filters.

But seriously, instead of ignoring my post and making a comment on my spelling? Which, I thought was fine, with the information which you probably needed to know most. Your engine has lost most of it's "sporty" feel, especially through the automatic transmission. Get your internals back to near showroom condition, maybe do a manual swap, buy a newer 240SX.

Don't make fun of others grammar and spelling when you lack the skills yourself.

I second that. Just enjoy your car. Get it running properly and do mods when appropriate (ie. if something's broken use it as an opportunity to add a higher performance aftermarket part).

You're going to drive yourself nuts trying to keep up with everyone else. Unless you spend a lot of time on salt flats or your last name is Schumacher, there are always going to be much, much faster cars out there.

My friends modded WRX would pass me so fast it would look like I was driving backwards, but I'm not losing sleep over it. Besides, an old lady in a Camry could blow me away at a stop light while talking on her cell phone and reapplying lipstick. The 240SX is still a blast to drive, just fast unless your going with some form of forced induction.

Yeah, there is always someone faster than you, and there are plenty of people slower than you. I think that is why I love the 240SX, it's balanced. Even with the SR20DET, it's not a major road burner, but even with the KA24DE it's not a slugbug. I only wish it were a little smaller, but I am happy.
