you have a 240sx. . it's about 4x cooler than any scion could ever hope to be, STOCK.

You've already won the battle, if not only in aesthetics. . .

after 4 seconds of google research, looks like the scion has about 160 HP and 163 torque almost identical to the 240's power, i bet it's front wheel drive and weighs a few hundred pounds more. . .making the 240 the clear performance winner, yeah i think a stock 240 could take a scion easily, if not even the slightest improvement in skill or hardware could tip the balance, lets say better spark plugs or .05 better reaction time. . .

Also cars with higher horsepower lose less hp though the drivetrain since losses though friction are independant of the engines output.

Considering the scion is brand new. Unless you have a huge tune up in the works and are running like new, I think the fresh engine and the fact that you're an Automatic would be the cause to your loss. Also probably the wosrt post ever.

Welcome to Nico.

It would be a bad idea to aggravate people who know more than you.

p.s. Using all caps in any post is tenfold worse than any spelling error.

there's no getting around the fatty's weight problem (the scion weighs 300 pounds more than the 240), that would be the deciding factor there as well as it's less aggressive aerodynamic profile.

you should have no problems taking a scion tc, especially with your current mods. . .

I'm new!The "which car will beat which acr" questions are almost impossible to answer definitively. There are so many variables that contribute and when you have cars so similar in capability it comes down to look in the guy's eye, see what he's made of and and ask yourself what you are made of, then run his ***!

I, also, wouldn't bring this type of stuff up unless you want people to spell check your every post.

But since you did, you've got 2 grammatical errors. Advise should be advice and its should be it's.

Welcome to Nico!

Only one way to find out, without looking foolish:

Take it to a track, and make it happen.

Fact is, BOTH cars are miserably slow, so it's really irrelevant.

But, you're in the right place to learn how to remedy that, so Welcome to NICO / 240sx.org!

Give respect to get it.

Anyway. It's all about the driver... But the tC has the advantage.

I've driven a tC - the manual "feels" a lot quicker than a 240, and definitely faster than an automatic 240.

im just gonna come out and say it..you're not going to win

why? you car is 12 years old, probably has crap build up in your engine, i dont know what else to think of atm.. but i am pretty sure you'd lose..

auto vs stick, i knwo i know, autos are fast sometimes also.. but you will defintely lose. unless the tC driver shifts like ****

anyhow.. Quote »["racer x"] looks like the scion has about 160 HP and 163 torque almost identical to the 240's power, i bet it's front wheel drive and weighs a few hundred pounds more. . .making the 240 the clear performance winner, yeah i think a stock 240 could take a scion easily[/quote]doubtful.. do you really believe that a 12year old 240sx will retain its same hp/tq rating over a decade?, also i've driven a 92 240sx, auto. wow that thing was slow.. WOT, super slow.

ps. people get annoyed by cap locks.. pps. welcome to nico , learn much

I love it when noobs argue, it takes the pressure off me! Like about whether your 240 is 100000 times cooler and stuff. Its not the best car in the world folks, just a cheap and fun one.

Anyway have fun with NICO, one day you'll look back at your old posts and think "wow, I was such a doofus back then...".

just race the dude.....and if you loose you loose.

also auto 240sx's aren't that slow, i mean my brother with intake that ends where stock box was and universal muffler(ricer type, but doesn't sound so ricey, the cat sounds more, lol) runs 10.5 on an 8th mile, me with crappy engine and a 5sp and same style intake but no exhaust or anyfin else, i run 10.5 on the same 8th mile.

auto 240's aren't as slow as say mustangs or other cars compared to their 5sp's, when say a mustang makes ~240rwhp on a 5sp, it makes ~220rwhp on an auto, when a 240 with 5sp makes ~130, an auto makes ~125 or so...

hey the adictz be careful on that road, enough though theres nothing, u could still hit the other car or go into the field...but have fun and tell us what happens
