If the guy drives like he says he does, you'll lose.

I think you usualy only get the head job if you win also just because there are fields on both sides doesnt mean that no one can get hurt...but at least no one else is around.Welcome to nico!we hate cause we love...

i want to see the time slip of you doing a 15.7 quarter mile on an auto 240sx. ive never seen a 5-speed stock 240sx run anything better than a 16 and that would have to be with the wind.

Fact is, BOTH cars are miserably slow, so it's really irrelevant.

But, you're in the right place to learn how to remedy that, so Welcome to NICO / 240sx.org!
I would disagree there. I find the 240SX to be plenty fast for my tastes, not a demon, but good. I guess for me, I find that the 240SX is an excellent blend of speed, handling, reliability, fuel efficiency, and insurance cost.

Of course my idea of the perfect blend would be something like a Catherham Super 7 Provided you build it right of course.

i thought the 240sx was miserably, terribly, super duper slow, with no sarcasm added. it was an auto though, owned by a mechanic.. still terribly, horribly, miserably, super duper slow, WOT feels .. not like WOT.. just sounds like it lol

puahahhhahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah

are you talking about those lame.. "tornado in your engine" thing?

if you want to shave a FULL SECOND off your 1/4.. haah.. it wont be easy nor cheap

haha, there were alot more better il4 made then the 240sx.. the KA24 E/DE is not one of the best, nor would it gain anywhere in the top 20 (imo + facts)

just go out there and see who wins.. im sure it'll be the tC unless he misshifts or shifts like crap

*sigh*

If they worked, don't you think auto manufacturers would make them?

No offense, but your "buddy" with the n/a RX7 is wrong. They do nothing.

It's simple physics. I'd recommend taking the next several days and just reading as much as you can here.

There's SO much to learn, and if there's one thing we don't stand for, it's misinformation.... Too many people rely on us for GOOD info.

your friend is an idiot, read the latest popular mechanics. they tested it among others, and the test vehicle lost about 10% hp on the dyno (they only mentioned percentages), and fuel economy went down like 10-15%. i dont have the mag with me so the numbers may not be accurate, but they are definatly very bad, and very negative.

p.s. Take it to a track.

I'd bet a paycheck your car isn't well-maintained enough for high-speed emergency maneuvers.

Please, don't be stupid. There are a TON of cars out there faster than yours, and some that are slower. It DOES NOT MATTER enough.

Besides, what are you gonna do if you DO wreck it? Doubt you're rolling with full coverage, so bye-bye car.

Of course, I also believe that the lightweight-ish body (still a touch chunky for my tastes, but I need the room) means that with proper maintenance and a sharp mind (and lots of research, start with that search button), it can become a real demon!

welcome to NICO. About the s13 vs. the scion... i dont know too much about the scion, but keep in mind that the scion has a considerably newer motor, compared to your motor. If your running your stock motor from 1993, you prob have 100,000+ miles. My money goes to the scion, but hey, you never know till you go. But becareful on the streets, it aint worth the car impound, lisence suspension, and fattest fine you probably ever pay.

Welcome to Nico.
Don't be ****ing stupid mann... An automatic can win this race with ease. Have you ever heard of, hmmmmm, "POWERBRAKING".

you know what thats a damn good point Geo some one shoulda pointed that out before he got spanked rwd auto should be able put a serious hurt on a mostly stock FF as far as launch goes...If you didnt last time hold the brake with it in gear and get the rpms up, then let go and let of the brake and try not to just burn out...How did you do on the launch?

Wrong.

I don't care how much "powerbraking" he did, he's still only putting around 100 hp to the wheels.

Like I said, they're not fast. Cool, but not fast.

In order to *power brake* there has to be some power involved in the equation... Ive driven auto s13's before and i think he would be better off mildly n bombing it for the launch.
