Great info. So this LC2i piece from Audio Control seems to just be a Line out converter. Basically taking an amplified signal and stepping it down enough to run into the amp, correct? Obviously there are quite a few features that this piece offers, however it seems if I have an amp with bass control already I can just buy a basic line out converter and go from there.

stepping it up, not down

it's better than a regular line out converter

my setup is a kicker 100 mono amp to an L7
400 to 4 kicker amp to JBL seperates
before i had an L5 and the bass wasnt hitting good enough because of the trunk and how good its sealed, but when i upgraded to the L7 and AMP ! now the sound is really clean and a little thumb without going over board !!!

I had that same problem kermit. I went with an RE Audio 15''. It can be a lot but blended well once dialed in.

OP - Is your amp mounted upside down at the top of the trunk? If so, how did you mount it? Bolts? I heard it's not safe to mount amps upside down, any issues?

@cvillanFL mounting an amp in that position is not recommended. When heat is dispersed from the amp it rises, so if the amp is upside down the amp won't cool properly. Most digital amps don't get as hot as other amp classes, so you may be able to get away with it. Just know it may shorten the lifespan of the amp. Hope this helps.

Yes my amp is up side down but it's not a problem as it's mounted (screwed) to the metal of the rear deck. The metal of the deck helps with the heat.

Audison amp can run all day at 1 oh but I have my set at 2 oh. You pay a little more for the Audison but you get a whole lot more. Best amps I have owned so far.

As for sound in to the car I always have the armrest down and not too long ago I got a 4" port that I will install on the deck when the weather gets warmer.

Is the trunk liner in between the amp and metal deck? I was thinking about doing the same thing. How'd you go about mounting it?

Liner has to be removed in order to sit the amp on metal deck, after amp is installed you need to trim the liner to expose the amp.

Not hard but it would be nice to have extra hands.
