Yeah, i know what your thinking, this wes is crazy for doing all these group buys for the Q45 guys!!!

I do this because theres no reason why everyone cant have a Q that handles great.. As long as mine handles better, ill be happy

Anyway.. Heres what the subframe spacers are. They are these little metal discs that go inbetween the frame of the car and the subframe bushing.. What they are supposed to do is reduce the amount of play in the subframe...

heres a picture of how they are installed, obviosuly they are the yellow things that are above and below the bushing.

I have these on my car, and like ive said before, I would NEVER recommend something that I would not put on my car..

Negatives? Well, the only thing i can think of that is negative is theres EVER SO SLIGHTLY more differential noise. I did not notice any more vibrations (maybe less due to less play in the subframe?). This is so slight that if you have even the music on a little, or the windows open, you wont notice it... I bet that many wouldnt notice if I didnt mention it..

Unlike other subframe spacers, these subframe spacers are notched so that you do not have to drop the subframe to install them.. simply lower the subframe an inch or so and slide them in..... Shouldnt take anyone more than an hour or 2, VERY easy job.. If not your mechanic shouldnt even charge 1 hour to install them...

LIke I said, I have them on my car, and they DRASTICALLY improve the rear end feel of the car... If there was an equivalent to the FSTB for the rear, this would be it... I only wished i would have done them sooner!!!

PRICE: $65ish shipped

Those are just poly bushings..

They are not SPL subframe bushings, however they are of equal or greater quality i can assure you.

Sorry to highjack the thread but.... do Z32 sway bars bolt up ? I am not sure if they are larger or not, but a friend of mine has a set of Suspension Technique bars laying around in the box off his Z32.

Can anyone explain how these improve the feel of the rearend?

If the argument proves valid I might make some

Would it be ultra-harsh to put these on with poly subframe bushings?

There is no need to use these with poly bushings... THe poly bushings will take up the extra space and do the same thing.....

Ive had them on my car, and i can say that only make the rear end tighter.. They dont add any NVH.....

If anyone can say what they do, it feels like someone put a strut tower brace under the car... Doesnt relaly improve handling, but makes things feel MUCH sturdier.

Wess,

Any chance they might damage the fluid filled bushings causing them to deflate?

Seems they would add more pressure on the top and bottom where there is a meant to be space. Sort of like stepping on a balloon.

That said, you have peaked my interest.

I retract my silly question. Upon second examination of the pic, I can see that this would not be a concern.

With the sub spacers and collars now installed on my Q, it seems to me to be a tad "tighter" in the handling deptment. I haven't really noticed any more noise from the differential, but I really haven't been listening for it either, so you could say it's not noticable to me yet.

When I installed mine it was cold and miserable outside and in a cold garage I almost lost my finger due to the frustration of trying to hurry up when I should have been taking my time. Not really hard to install if you simply take your time and keep warm.

I painted mine yellow(as shown in previous thread) before I installed them with some brake caliper paint to add a little flair. They come bare titanium type metal with no paint. Again, I have no pics of installation because I usually only think of it "after" I do the installation. Typical redheaded "get it done now and in 2 minute" mentality.

I expected to hear some pops or creaking around tight fast turns or very quick stops, but I haven't heard any of that either, so I'm satisfied with the spacers and collars.

I just bought mine off of eBay. $52.95 plus $7.00 shipping. These will go nicely with my Cali Custom springs, camber adjusters, rear adjustable control arms, and NICO ECU.

Perfect Jeff! You're going to be my guinea pig.... Tell me if if the sub frame bushings along with the springs and 18' wheels make the ride too rough for you. I'm following the same path as you but will hold back till you cough up the info. I've been thinking of those or 20 mm rear sway bar.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried both? That must make the Q handle and ride like a go-cart.

Remember, I am running 245/45/18 tires.

I am considering 285(or 275)/35/18 for the rear, if the rims don't stick out of the fender too much. I need bo buy one rim, and am cosnidering 2 18 x 9 for the rear.
