I am considering 285(or 275)/35/18 for the rear, if the rims don't stick out of the fender too much. I need bo buy one rim, and am cosnidering 2 18 x 9 for the rear.
I'm running 245/40 18"

I don't know if I'm going to keep these rims on much longer. They are no longer made by Konig and replacements are just about impossible to find. One wheel is slightly bent and another rim is cracked due to an attack by a supermarket curb. It's going to cost me a hundred just to get the crack fixed and I'll still have a bent rim. I wonder what the optimal wheel and tire combo will be with the new springs? Best look with optimal ride quality?

Any chance they might damage the fluid filled bushings causing them to deflate?

Seems they would add more pressure on the top and bottom where there is a meant to be space. Sort of like stepping on a balloon.

That said, you have peaked my interest.

Sorry to bump a old topic (Don't know why any one would hate that but General chat people do)

I might be interested in these as well as long as the collars could be removed for any reason (Don't like them, selling the car at Barret Jackson...) With out ANY damage to the OEM sub frame bushings. Now I know the rear sub frame bushing are all original but there is no reason to kill them sooner than I had thought. Please I know sub frame bushings could leak at anytime because of there age.

And please I like to think I would sell my car at Barret Jackson, its what keeps me putting OEM parts in it for the most part. Hell I have kept everything that has broken off the car (Interior ONLY as far as I know "Knock on wood" Well besides the under engine cover that was replaced (Thanks NTB tires...))

Theyre pretty easy to get on ebay, S13/S14, 300ZX, skyline, its all the same..

Ive had mine on since this thread was created, and ive found no reason to take them off.. Its a $60 part, and honestly theyre a nice alternative to replacing the subframe bushings..

From what Ive seen, the collars would help even if the bushings were shot, because theres a rubber collar on the top and bottom of the bushing, and the spacers help remove the slop in this...

From what I have read (Google search) they are not a replacement for the OEM bushings but rather just reduce the slack between them. If the bushings are dead, they are dead.

What I don't get is why the manufactures never made this OEM as far as I can tell if there is such a little side effect as you say. I am sorry to bring this up but I just want to be 100% sure on this.

This weekend, took the Tokiko blues for a test drive. What a difference those struts make. So before I start the sway bar project, I want to check in on the sub-frame bushing situation.

While turning in the driveway at speed about 2x to 3x normal (trying to take it on two wheels) as soon as the car levels, I hear a "THUNK" noise from the rear end.
The last time I can remember that "THUNK" noise was on my 92 Explorer when the front passenger sub-frame bushing was shot (semi melted) from being too close to the cat..

While installing the struts, I noticed something didn't seem right with the following pictures being the space above and below the bushings.

Could this slack cause the "THUNK" sound after turning a sharp corner?

Can the spacers Wes describes in this thread help remove the slack?
