Ok, how about dealer awards? Anyway, my point is that their product is good, reliable, and worth the money. There are tons of speaker companies out there and just because they are flavor of the month, it does not mean that they are equal or superior to JL. You know as well as I do that if I wanted a speaker line, I could have one tomorrow using off the shelf parts. Just because some new, unknown, cheaper product comes along does not mean it is magic. For example, what was "best" before DLS? What brand will replace DLS as "best"? Again, I'm not proclaiming JL to be the "best" just a quality product that I think gives you your money's worth. YMMV.

I will agree JL builds quality products, but one that you pay for and you pay big! I don't agree for a second that they're worth the price though. At half their price, you bet! I've been a JL nay say'er for a long while solely because of their high prices. They're priced like a lamborghini, but perform like a Porsche. Why not just buy Porsche performance at Porsche prices?

All you've basically said in your post is that JL is banking on their name and that's exactly what they're doing. They produce quality drivers for huge amounts of money (because if it's expensive it must be good right?) that do not perform up to their MSRP.

IMO the only good product they have out now is the W7 line because every other line is eclipsed by what should be "inferior" drivers. The W7 is a hell of a driver and works great for car audio, but is it really worth the HUGE price tag for it? If someone had a little more room, they could buy an SDX-15 at 1/3 the price and have equal performance.

I prefer teh SDX or the Exodus SHiva 12. Buy two of them for the price of one JL driver.

Trow them in an Isobarik setup for lower extension, super controlled movement, and badass output!
