Bad gas just killed our Escape, will update after tow.

Wow, edit for grammar. Please make Familiy's in title.

Thanks!

In case you aren't from the midwest area, it was recent news that BP had released a lot, A LOT, of bad gas here.

Fast forward to today.

Took our 2008 Escape to help move a relative 4 round trips of about 24 miles per trip. With the A/C going and already being lower on gas, my dad stopped off at the local BP to fill up.

I got a call from him about 2 miles from the house saying the car is growling pretty badly. He's able to make it home anyways.

He pulls up the the garage and turns the Escape off so he can get out and open the garage door.

He gets back in the car and attempts to start it won't turn over. He calls me out to take a look and the thing almost sounded as bad as my 240sx when it was knocking.

I ask him if he got it washed it or anything on the way home and he said he filled up at BP.

2 hours later we've got a tow truck operator telling us it's the 8th vehicle of the day with the same ailment.

I'll keep you updated with what comes next at the dealership and then if so, the process of claim filing with BP.

Sucks that you are having car problems

This may not be a BP issue per say. It could be an issue with the trucking company that stored/transported the fuel. It could be a single fuel station with a leaking tank.

Take it easy on the finger pointing until the whole situation has been investigated further.

BP even thinks it may be the problem.

BP pretty much owned up to it. I'm surprised this just happened to you. I thought they more or less recalled all of that bad gas. This whole thing started like 2 weeks ago.

I've been avoiding BP this whole time anyway. Actually I'm avoiding any station that I don't know for certain where they get their gas.

I've been avoiding BP pretty much since the deep water horizon incident, as well as after one of their pumps refused to shut off and dumped gas all down the side of my prelude and all over the parkinglot. It hasn't been a good decade for BP.

Lol. Dont forget spelling too.

Good thing I never go to BP, they are always like 20 cents more than everyone else. Hopefully just draining the fuel tank and system will solve the issue. Make them pay for it :)

Yeah, I checked the station my dad went to and all levels of fuel were bad according to the BP website.

I will let you know what the dealership says after they take a look at it.
