I didn't know EFI Specialist could do that!
Darn, I shoulda asked for an atmo bov tune...

Oh yeah, I learned a few months ago that the sandwich adapter ports are actually getting unfiltered oil, as the oil gets filtered and gets passed through the center of the filter.

So I think the aftermarket oil pressure sensor should go on the sandwich adapter since it won't matter, and your oil feed like gets teed with the stock oil pressure sensor, since that gets the filtered oil.

So this is how I'm going to do my PCV/Valve cover breather set up.

Yes, I know the PCV is already a check valve, but once it sees more than 5 psi, air starts seeping past. This is bad!!!

So I searched forever, and decided the best way is like this. (This is assuming you have an emissions/PCV deleted manifold like me)

Out of boost: PCV -> Check Valve -> Intake Manifold

In boost: VC Breather -> Pre-Turbo intake

Tools you will need:
Check Valve (McMaster-Carr part ##7775k53)
3/8 X 3/8 Barb X MIP fittings for check valve (Home depot)
11/36 Drill bit
1/8" NPT to 3/8" hose fitting (Pep Boys, etc)
1/8" NPT Tap (NAPA)

Check Valve:

Tap & 1/8" X 3/8" fitting:

First, I decided I wanted my fitting right on the side of the intake manifold, near the brake booster line. This is for ease of access, and I thought it was a good spot. (Marked by black sharpie dot)

Drill your hole with the 11/36" bit, and then tap it with the 1/8" NPT tap:

And then finally, you just screw your fitting in:

This s*** isn't gonna leak. Drilled/tapped, plug inserted with jbweld on the threads, jbweld coated over the top of the plug so no air can escape. Ghetto, but solid. :chuckle:

Haha JBweld ftw.

A stud on my head was not coming off so I JBwelded a nut onto there and came back and undid it an hour later, threaded the stud right out!

Well, I was gonna boost it this weekend, install everythin etc.

But that's not going to be happening. Motor was running funny and cylinder 4 reads 50 PSI. The piston is not damaged and the rings are not bad. So it must be a valve.

Disassemble starts tomorrow.

I like the work you did with the new PCV. I've never really thought about adding new vacuum ports.

So I went through the motor, pulled the head off etc. And luckily there is no piston damage at all. I can see a valve is bent (light shows through at a certain angle), so I'll be replacing that. Then finally I can boost this thing. Freaking problems!

It's all the small things that get in your way.

I hope it runs problem free after the valve is replaced man!

I figured since my motor is taken apart I can clean up some stuff, and make it look cleaner.

Sandblasted and painted the valve cover (picture came out weird):

lookin good man keep it up! hey this kinda goes without saying, but make sure you clean out the valve cover really well if you sand blasted it. stuff can get stuck under the baffle like underside of the cover.

Yeah I know.

I've had the head back on the car for 2 days now, but have been sick so I can't get the intake manifold on haha.

Should be boosted soon if all goes well.

Yeah it runs.
I have some kinks to work out of course, but it actually goes into boost this time.

I've only had it at half throttle and it pulls about as hard as my car used to at full throttle.
