Looks good. I fear I might have to swap my chassis harness too. This thread does not put my mind at ease. That thing looks horrid.

good word of advice...paint your bay as soon as you pull your engine...or you might regret not taking the time to do it later down the road when you have the out side looking mint..would suck to open the bay and have to do a quick cover up at a gas station while checkin the fluids ..lol..im really impressed your taking the time to take time on her and do it the correct way...your one of the few legit folks here on nico..props! :yesnod

Pulled the engine out of the car and got the steering rack bushings and steering column installed!

Here's the bay. I didn't paint or clean it because I'm only putting the new KA into the car to smog it and daily it, and then it's coming back out again whenever I do my swap (dunno which swap yet.)

The old KA...

Gross grime on the oil pan and WTF look how they blocked the damn EGR!!! YES that is ORANGE RTV

Old steering column (right) new column (left)

Stock steering bushing..rubber, rotted, old

So I know I haven't updated this much, but the new S14 KA24DE is in, it runs great, 5 lug conversion is in the works as well as z32 brakes.

The whole interior is back together and everything works as it should..This car has came from a piece of crap to something worthwhile lol.

Pics will be up soon!

The reason I haven't been posting is because I built a motorcycle as a side project during the winter.

It started as this...:

Thanks man! I sold it though for $$$ for this lame 240!

So I bought S14 5 lug front and rears for my car. I am less than satisfied with what I received. They are in decent condition but were described to be in better. Also the person I bought them from was convinced they'd bolt right onto my S13 when I was pretty damn sure I needed an S14 knuckle and ball joint - I was right

So I bought these fronts from Contano. I will be keeping the OEM S14 rears.

Z32 brakes

Image

Also my catalytic converter got rubbed through from scraping too much...

Image

Fixed it lol

He was probably confused since the rears bolt up no problem. If I had known you needed an S14 knuckle, I just pulled some hubs off an S14 at the local pick and pull.

Did some work to the 240 today. Had a lot more I wanted to do, but to my surprise, removing 1/4 glass from a hatch is RIDICULOUSLY time consuming. My first attempt I literally blew up the passenger side 1/4 glass - sounded like a gunshot. Good thing that was my test dummy.

Here's my 1/4 glass to replace my crappy lexan window that was riveted in by the previous owner.

Image

Old lexan crappy window... :tisk: This is seriously pointless, the 1/4 glass windows are SO lightweight. Maybe, MAYBE 5 lbs.

Image
Image

I also looked into why my gas door wont open or stay shut. It didn't even have the latch, so I put that in..All is good now!

Image

Interior is starting to get closer to being like a "car" again...

Image

New parts..Circuit Sports Z32 to S13 conversion brake lines, new wheel bearing caps, and a radiator boot.

Image

My old car is slowly becoming more and more of a "parts" car lol...

DUDE you are awesome lol! Man that wiring was a nightmare lol but in regards to your post about the plugs, i think the one left over by the steering column is for cruise control. Since the manufacturers use the same harness in all models of the same car, some have the extra plugs left over.

Made an impulse decision and removed the rear subframe and bought some DIF solid bushings, waiting for those to get here still.

I really gotta put my 1/4 glass in but it keeps not adhering correctly..

Installed the 1/4 window..no more riveted lexan!

Image

New DIF solid subframe bushings..

Image

Old subframe bushings sawzall'd out...These were a bit time consuming but definitely not as bad as everyone says they are.

Image

New solid bushings in, and cleaned up the subframe as much as I cared to before a quick respray

Image

Done...I don't care how it looks tbh it's under the car.

Image

Z32 brakes done and stainless steel circuit sports conversion lines.. :)

Also installed an AVC-R into my friends GT2871 SR20 coupe, and helped him install an AEM fuel pump..

Finished my rear 5 lug, and put the subframe back into the car..Also raised my coils an inch so I'll be able to get back out of my backyard lol. I'll be doing an altima brake swap too.

Image

Subframe back in...180SX diff, j30 axles, DIF solid bushings..

Image

And some brand new tires on my Z32 wheels! Didn't pay for outrageous new tires because these wheels will be temps.

Image

I hope to get this thing out of my backyard soon!! The "to-do" list is getting smaller and smaller.
