You know URAS makes a strut bar for our cars also for just a little bit more if you don't want to go generic. They run about $ 120.00 or so for the front and $ 120.00 for the rear. They are just as top notch quality as JIC and Cusco just cheaper. Here is a picture to give you an idea of what they look like :

I've heard of some tall tales/horror stories of generic strut bars breaking and going throught the hood of cars under extreme load, but if all you want to do is add it for looks, then go with generic I guess.

no, i definatley am not buying for looks. im just having a hard time justifying spending $150 for a metal bar with two brackets! i find it a bit of a high price considering it doesnt take much R&D to devolope and produce these things

i have a pair of generics off of ebay i picked up for $66 shipped. fitment is overall good and they do the job for sure. a cusco would be better for overall being stiffer and more well made, but like i said these do the job just fine. and i can't see them ever breaking, sounds like horror stories started by a "brand name" company or person who doesn't like generic stuff:) i've put these up next to the greddy bars and the design is EXACTLY the same.

i bought mine off ebay and it works just fine.. they are all the same, i pice of metal with some holes on the end for the bolts.. there is no way i would spend 120$ for a sturt bar for road use..

this is getting really confusing. has anyone driven a car that cheap strut bars and then with expensive strut bars? i dont suspect too many have so how can all of you claim that either the more expensive ones make a bigger difference than the cheaper once or vice versa?

i think the only thing I would go for is the triagular 4point bar instead of a 2 point one...

which one looks stiffer?

edit: its 3 pt not 4 pt, wrong terminology- my bad

No, I said the quality build is just as good.

Screw it just get the cheap one. Although I have also heard tall tales/horror stories of the 4 pt. stut bar awhile back. Someone said that under pressure they crack the firewall if not attached appropriately. Hell I don't know, don't listen to me because I know nothing. Just get one already.:pface

Brand Loyalty people im a nismo whore and proud of it. Besides nismo just "officially" launched here in september and there stuff is cheap-ish. Only 188 for the front one.

the great thing is, if you already have coilovers and stabilizer bars, the front tower bar wont make a big difference anyway.

I can't think of any reason the tringualr rear bar would be bad....However the front has some compormises, harder install/removal, makes acess to certna things little more troublesome.

As for the cracked firewall question, I personally dont think anyone would have problems with it unless it was installed wrong or you were in an accident

the greddy front stb is a good bar. I had one installed before before selling it to a buddy of mine. I now run cusco's on both front and rear. No noticable difference between the greddy and the cusco until I hit a turn at higher speeds. But having a strut tower bar and was clearly noticable once installed. You might want to try sway bars before strut tower bars though, as they'll probably do more for you than a strut tower bar. Only reason I switched to cusco was because the bar wasn't just like a pipe, it was one of their flatter bars (type os) which could also take the 3 point for the rear. Was it worth the money? Yeah in the sense that having front and rears helps with stability but not spending the 220 for both as that's not as good bang for the buck.

FCK IT!!!! if you care that much about quality and cheapness...go have a ****ing handrail welded in between your strut towers...problem solved! SUPER strong, SUPER stiff, and if you steal the handrail it'll probably be ilek 50 bucks tops!!!
