Still don't understand what the hassel is about. Buy an LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7 and be happy. You think it can't perform as well as an RB26? Put a turbo or supercharger on it and happily make well over 1k hp. If I had to do it all over again......that's what I would do..........

heh.. i thought about going FJ also but.. i couldnt find the motor anyway. the FJ24 would be a badass motor but.. there were only limited numbers of them. alot of the Datsun guys use them though, somehow they track them down, you can find them in the older S12 RS-X.. id go with the whole RB25 route though.. it ousts the hell out of the KA and SR.

^^^ What do you mean, they do turbo them. Or spray them. The turbo ones running anything more than 7psi usually have built motors and well over 1k hp.

chevy/pontiac sports cars

i have a friend with a fully built street camaro that will lift the front tires off the ground on street tires. it was making ~800 or so on 14 psi or something around that on the first or 2nd build, but now it's on like the 3rd and yet to by dyno'd. the guy that owns the car has made it a tribute car to his son that was killed in a motorcycle crash... it was his car. but before he died they even started doing this stuff to the car. the dad is a mechanical engineer and designed a air-water ic system that's pretty awesome. it's got cams that were made for that car, and that car alone. it pretty much has a nascar engine. standing next to it just at idle is very intimidating. and when they revved it i almost went def.it's the most rediculous car i have ever been around.it made 400 ft lbs at 2k rpms on the dyno on the first engine... now it's been reworked a few times and puts the first one to shame. supercharged, not turboed.i have yet to ride in it but i will one of these days. the guy has just a few tickets... but they were all crap tickets... not for anything outstanding, just not paying attention to stuff... like almost everyone on the road does. i know this because they almost kill me on my bike all the time.

well, around here.. none are turbo'd. all of them are N/A or supercharg'd and arent really making that much power. alot of the Mustangs are just 5.0s and the older Chevy's around here are just N/A..

We have a turbo'd 2001 trans am that makes 500+rwhp at 7 psi. Most of the rest are heads/cam/spray and hit almost 600rwhp. The turbo guys that are serious make too much power for daily driving for the most part.

2jz looks like a nice swap for the USDM 240sx chassis actually, the intake is on the steering column side which leaves nice rooms for turbos and downpipes unlike the RB series which puts the turbos on the steering column side of the car. My next car im building is going to be a C5 vette probably, im sick of ringing out motors for power.

Unfortunately, they are probably never going to do that, but I would rule a 4.5 if the money were there.
