i figure, what the hell are you modifying your car for, if you street race exclusively? for me, it's great getting thumbs up, the occasional raised eyebrow, and friendly tips from ' seasoned' autocrossers than anything else. (mmm...seasoning)
AGREED!! I mean, whats the defintion/ difference between a ricer and a enthusiast (sorry for kicking that rotting dead horse again)? Ricers, to me, are just a bunch of show offs. Do mods to gain attention on the streets. Enthusiasts do mods for the love of the hobby, and if they want to truly test their mods, they do it in a sanctionised place, like a track or a dyno. I've been asking those kids why they mod there car, for the most props at the end of the week? Considering most of them drive mommies car and talk pure smack on that board, just pisses me off. I give up my valiant cause, I'm no pope, nor care to be, hope those kids kill eachother, I won't shed a tear or lose any sleep!
Bob, you go to those darkknights events? I know a couple of the owners, really nice guys, but I think they just want to exploit the scene to make a quick buck. Most of those guys are all show and no go, but they do have some serious cars in the club, majority of which are hondas (oh well). I went to their first show, saw one Nissan (a ZX), one audi, a couple VW's, one last gen supra, no FD's (!), and about 40 del sols, a couple hundred civics, at least 80 itr's, lotsa ludes. Have they expanded the club, or is it still mainly hondas?
