Just got done with sr swap and for the first couple of days everything was going fine. Just today I started hearing this loud high pitched shriek coming from the turbo (stock T25) under boost, first I thought it was a leak coming from where the hot pipe meets the turbo, so I went back through and tightened everything down...same thing. There is no burning oil, the turbo seems to be boosting fine, no shaft play, blades aren't scraping. I'm running a greddy type-s bov (recirculating), is it possible it is leaking? The sound isn't a metallic shriek...more reminisent of a vacuum being pushed around the house and is just really loud...any ideas?

fyi turbos make lots of cool whooshing noises, thats why everyone wants one, j/k get a boost leak tester. or your oil feed line might be pluged.

My turbo when it builds boost occasionally makes a squealing noise... almost like a squeaky belt. Any ideas?

possibly oil starvation, what turbo do you have? Check your oil supply line

Mine does this every week until i tighten my damn exhaust bolts, the ones going from the manifold to the turbo. It also could be your gasket which happened to me with my paper gasket. Get a metal one it helps.

the upgraded exhaust manifold studs are good to have from enjukuracing.com under sr20det turbo upgrades..they use an anti-vibration locking flanged nut so if that is the problem you wont have it nomore

Also I thought I had a similar problem and took the car up to Enjuku. Come to find out, my upper-radiator-cooling-panel-metal-thing was vibrating against the rad support. We took it off and I didn't have any more squeeking or rattling.

When I had my T-25, it would squeal like a mofo as well. Turns out one of the nuts on the exh-turbo stud was loose causing ex gas to leak.
