hey guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having some strange issues with my sr20 red top

My car is boosting fine, but the feeling i get is like the engine cant keep up with the turbo. i boost to .55hkpa or 7lbs and the car feels like its being held back.. bog sometimes.. RPMs climb slow if I floor it.

If i teather foot and increase boost along with the rpms at the same rate, the car flies the way it should. If im on the highway there is no issues with boost or the issue is very small and unnoticable.

If I try to push some power in low gears the boost is all there i hear the turbo spooling, i sound like a freakin seriously suped up car, meanwhile im going like 15 mph...

This problem is periodic and happens from time to time. sometimes the car will run with no faults for a month, then it will run like this for a month.. REALLY strange.. i think something is getting knocked around..

This section of the forum doesnt see much traffic during the weekend. As far as your problem goes, I would say start with the basics.

What spark plugs do you have, and what are they gapped to?

Are you throwing any ECU codes?

Do you have any boost/vacuum leaks?

What is the electrical timing set to?

Is the cam timing set properly?

Are your coil packs bolted down properly, and free of cracks?

You should find something by checking all of those things, I'm pretty sure your problem lies down one of these paths.
