no headers yet, I'm patiently waitin for nismo's QR headers (and intake)... I don't wanna play with the spec-v's unless they don't make new nismo headers for our coupes... I wanna keep it as nissan r-tuned as possible... I'm goin nismo QR cams next, along with the Eibach springs.

illegal vs legal? who cares... but I'm not restraining myself or my car's potential because California doesn't like my modifications lol these cops around here will pull you over for anything if your numbers anyways - and besides, my record is clean (now) haha so I'm good. I just couldn't see myself spending thousands on mods that were restricted - might as well go balls out.

the car has to have a carb approved muffler... better yet, a stock muffler, to reduce noise, and regular, pollution... car companies follow regulations for emissions when they build cars. wuts funny is that from what cops have told me, even aftermarket "carb-approved" mufflers are illegal to some extent - its all bullshiiit... i don't care lol I'll recycle damnit, but I won't drive a prius.

Yeah, but the cat converters are in the headers. All mufflers do is quiet down the noise. I can't see how it would be illegal to have no muffler.

To my understanding, the exhaust only needs to meet the legal sound decibel set by that particular state. Usually 95 decibels, pretty sure any straight pipe would set it way over but not in all cases depending on what's on the midpipe and manifold.

you're right... but when I got pulled over exhaust in the past (and mind you they didn't hear it), they said that they can give tickets "if they want" if the car isn't completely stock, period.. I hate cops. lol

Man, Cali cops are such bixtches. I got pulled over in San Diego one time and this cocky cops was like "have you heard of Drag Net???" (a division specifically for street racing, modified cars etc) and he was trying to name my engine and got it all wrong. Telling me my exhaust was over 100db (I had the 93 db Tanabe Hyper Medallion) and trying to make all this crap up. I corrected him on everything and he got pissed off and wrote me up for tint, HID, intake, exhuast. had to go to smog check, court all that yards. FREAKN PIECE OF XXXX

yeah, they're either bungholes or cool as hell lol once I raced an undercover cop in an impala (I DID NOT KNOW it was cop) after it cut me off... when they finally caught up to me at a light, two other cop cars pulled up (a black and white and another undercover), they all jumped out of their cars, lights and guns pointed at me LOL!! the driver of the impala I was driving was screaming - SHE was pissed! LMAO!!!! they let me go and told me to stop being a dumb ***. hahahaha after I changed my underwear, I drove off.

then there was a time that a cop towed my car because my girl wouldn't shut up. LOL
