KA24DE no good for BOTI ?I suppose you need not worry about 400-450 from a stock KA24DE bottom end either, especially using E85 ?More torque than a 63, stock top end done way over 500hp and 500ft-lbs, plus already rwd, inexpensive and no swap needed.

Quote »I'd be willing to mail it to ARP and see what their equivalent is AND SHARE THIS KNOWLEDGE WITH EVERYONE!!! =) (and not keep it secret like the guy on ebay). [/quote]is it worth "going around" him ? Cheaper or.... ?I'm wondering if fresh rod bolts would buy u strength or rather insurance from reused/fatigued weaker stock bolts.

With the way we have our wide band it is at 11.7 WOT timing is like 17 at 8000 I think. I would have to get the laptop out to check.

4G63's are a different motor, very strong ,specially the 6 bolt like you have, you can rev stock ones high make 400-450hp and not worry about stock bottem end. I was and still am considering doing that swap instead of the CA one thing keeping me from doing it is BOTI rules if I race.
When you are ready to go 4 port let me know and I can send you one when you have money that is

Yes...cheaper. For example, he sells his CA18DET ARP flywheel bolt kit for like $33+ S&H (8 bolts), you can buy those same bolts from Summit Racing for $26, and thats buying two packs of 6...sold as ARP part 151-2801 (Ford Pinto 2.0L)...each 6 pack being like $13. So....do the math...that leaves 4 bolts left over....so...if you buy 4 packs and resell it as 3 kits....you can come out ahead. 4 packs for like $52 +SH, keep a kit for yourself....the sell the other 2 for $26 each + S&H...and you still beat his price and got yourself a free set of 8.

Anyhow....Im sure ARP makes something that fits the OEM CA18 rods perfectly....its just not on file because they could care less about the CA18.

Also...Im not suggesting reusing bolts...rather...he sends me one and I mail it to ARP and have them match it to something they have.....they let me know the part number for it.....then I buy it cheaper than available on ebay. Make sense?

I'm just interested in contributing to the wealth of knowledge in the CA18 community...not purposely undercutting some ebay seller just for the heck of it. So are you ericsperformance on ebay then or what? Just curious.

4 port heads were the only head used on the European CA18DET's.

that oil gunked valve pictured above could be the result of worn valve guides, valve stem seals, or an improperly routed breather system.
