You know, I was calling bull on them when they made the 377, and they posted a dyno graph and I was still skeptical. But a funny thing happened, I was at a shop that I goto (GroudZero Motorsports) and I was talking to one of the owners about a KA that made 370ish at the wheels in chicago, and he asked me who it was, I didnt remember the Phatka-t, except that Klattr1 (site designer for http://www.ka-t.org) had their webpage and stuff on my server forever...anyways....I said it had something to do with sound performance, and low and behold, both of the shops know each other because of their supras they own. I got the official OK from GroundZero that these guys are truthful and do not **** around. They obviously have no reason to lie about it.

So...yea...thats my 2cents :)

Good job!!

What is the car going to be used for? For what periods of time will it be putting down peak power?

The car has already hit the street at this boost level. Its just stupid. Open diff just smokes the tires. Once in fourth gear tho, it pulls harder then a BPU Supra. My customer is looking into an LSD to help with traction. I am sure once he gets it back, he will hit the strip and the street races with it.

aleph1 wrote:Ah. Regardless those are amazing numbers for a stock KA. But the question now is, how long can the engine sustain those power levels?

I think most of the credit to this power and stability goes to the AEM management system, in turn, to Ivan and his crew for getting it to work and tuning it.

BTW- what kinda fuel you using for the 16psi run?
Longevity is a question that will be answered in time. When the car goes back to the customer, it will be running less then 16 psi. probably hit the street with about 330 - 350 HP.

The AEM is a large reason for the amount of HP and reliability. It was kind of difficult but we got it working. AEM will bennifit from our experience (as we did theirs)

We are still running 93 octane with about 2 gals of race gas in it. Timing is still adjusted for pump gas. I wouldnt recomend running 400whp in this car on just pump gas unless you are able to monitor EVERYTHING that is going on. I may try for a bit more HP tomorrow. I will probably throw some more race gas in the car first tho.

Actually the injectors are 50lb. Anything bigger then that in high impedance is really expensive. I ordered a Mitsu eclipse injector resistor pack which should be in tomorrow so I can run any injector I want.

I set the base FP up to 55psi because I had a feeling that I would be pushing the 50# injectors pretty hard. The extra 10psi can net me 10% more HP on the same injectors.

Yes the turbo is availble thru SP. I am not supposed to sell things here as I am not a sponsor.

This is not a ball bearing turbo and is not liquid cooled

Wow... you guys are officially the kings of KA-T tuning as of now. That just blows my mind. I'd love to see some video of it on the streets or track. Congratulations.

I've heard of people using the Honda resistor packs as well on cars. Is there a difference in the Honda vs. Mitsubishi packs? How much did you pay for yours? What make/model/year was it from? Thanks.

I believe the car is going to be enjoyed. Twin brothers actually own the car. The have had it as a project car for 7 years and we have done all of the few mods they had prior to this. They approached me this past winter to put an SR20 in it and I talked them into letting me use their car to build a turbo kit with. I think they are happy they chose this route.

They drive it on weekends and go to the local race spots and events. It probably wont see more then 330 to 350ish HP on the street or track. We want the car to live for a bit.

I own an S14 that I will work on seeing the limits of the stock KA motor with. I found the limits of the stock motor and NOS on my other S14. Trust me when I tell you that a 250hp shot without retarding timing and only 99 octane will break a ring land in about 1 second :)

I didnt check into the Honda pack. I am more familiar with DSM cars then Hondas. I know the Mitsu pack works. I actually ordered three. Two for a 347ci stroker turbo mustang we are finishing up that is running AEM EMS and one for my S14 that I may try out on the project car first. List price was around 75 bux. I ordered it for a 92 eclipse turbo.

I know. I am sorry. I suck. Email me at [email protected] The PhatKA-T.com email has some issues.

I have been busting my *** at work and get home so tired that I havent been checking my email every day. I have replied to some emails but others with requests for SOHC, SR, CA manifolds I have filed for when I get some time to reply. I am still working on the web page and getting together prices and availibility together. As soon as things are in full swing, there will be an announcement on the web page.

Thanx for your patience

What kind of price would you be asking for an AEM EMS that works with a 95 240sx? Or is AEM going to produce one?

Yes, this is Heath and Keith Henderson's car. I am trying to get their car ready for the Chicagoland 240 club meet. I have 16 cars in the primary shop and 10 more in the second shop all waiting to be worked on so its going to be a crunch. Anyway the info on the meet is:

Day: Sunday, June 13Time: NoonLocation: Miami Woods @ Oakton and Caldwell in Niles, IL.

If anybody is interested there are supposed to be 20+ cars attending.

AEM still has no release date for the EMS unfortunatly. I wish they would hurry. It will make my life so much easier. Please go to http://www.aempower.com and register for the forums and hit up the Nissan section and show them how many people are interested. That might help them speed up the progress.

Well for one, it is a full stand alone which, under normal circumstances, is totally plug n play. It replaces your stock ECU, uses all the same sensors and requires no messing with the wiring harness...

In conclusion, Haltech is a PIA and requires custom wiring. Jim Wolf is non adjustable. Therefore the AEM EMS ecu is awesome...only prob is that its over grand. $$$

on horsepower freaks they have a bunch of honda AEM EMS systems, most of them are 1300 and 1400 which is not bad, 2 of them are 1800 and knowing my luck are probably the ones used in this applictaion here.
