Hey i have a 1991 240 with red top Sr20det on the way and i was wondering if i could fit a FMIC on the stock bumper. If so what sizes can i fit? Or would i be better off buying a stock sr20det SMIC. I dont wanna buy a SMIC now just to change it for a FMIC later. Trying to save as much money as i can.

I doubt you could get a good fmic in there without at least triming the bumper cover.

I had to trim mine to get my Greddy fmic in.

yea there is definitely going to have to be some trimming, of the bumper itself and the bumper support(if you plan to keep it)

I didnt wanna lose my bumper support but i needed to flame cut a hole into the side of it to get the 2 5/8" rubber coupler through. It all depends on the size of your intercooler but i had to cut out the bottom of mine

So you didnt have to cut your bumper support then? Do you have a pic of how it looks on the stock bumper?

you need to trim the bumper alittle (you can't even tell it's been trimmed imo) to get most intercooler to fit.

greddy one seems to be best bang for the buck if you want to buy a kit. Customizing is a pain and I think buying a kit is what most people did.

Anyways this is what greddy one will look like

You can fit a nice intercooler without cutting much out of stock Bumper ... I have a large pro-charger intercooler in my 93' S13 with a stock bumper.

mine is in there without too much cutting, like maybe 2 inches of cor support and barely any bumper trim; its 18x9x3 (i was gonna post a pic of it, but it wont let me, its too big i guess, so if you go to my cardomain site you can see a pic of itabout halfway down first page)
