Have you ccontacted your dealers service dept.keggersr02 wrote:Please tell me that people besides me are having trouble with the hub caps I have had to replace three so far and I don’t look for it to be too long before I have to replace another. My car goes from my house to work and that's it about 20 miles both ways all highway any comments on how to keep them on would be greatly appreciated
That's true, but they shouldn't fall off THAT often. My wife's last car had hub caps and she never lost one....(scraped the hell out of a few on curbs ) but never lost one. That's why I asked if he keeps loosing it from the same wheel. Something might be damaged on that wheel.Clipsed wrote:hub caps are hub caps, they are prone to falling off, and I don't think that auto mfg's are ever going to design a system that is more secure than the one that is already implemented.
Why would you have wanted Nissan rims?keggersr02 wrote:they aren't coming off of just one wheel I have lost my front passenger once and my rear drivers side twice the only reason I have hub caps is because I wanted a stick shift and the local dealer only had the standard with hub caps and I couldn't talk them into putting new wheels on it
Oh, I dunno, maybe because they're nice-looking factory rims. Not everyone wants to roll around on the steel wheels. No offense, but in most cases that drastically cheapens the look of a car.lain wrote:Why would you have wanted Nissan rims?
I agree 100%. The Nissan rims on my SL may not be ultra-high-end tunner wheels or anything, but I like 'em. I have never liked the look of any vehicle with bare steel wheels. It always looks to me like you've had your hubcaps stollen and you don't have the money to replace them. Oh well...to each, his own.Rockhound wrote:Oh, I dunno, maybe because they're nice-looking factory rims. Not everyone wants to roll around on the steel wheels. The Versa looks decent though, since the steelies are actually painted black and cleared, so they are shiny. They look really nice on the MG, B, and W Versa, they are the best colors, probably a R Versa tooRockhound wrote:Oh, I dunno, maybe because they're nice-looking factory rims. Meh, glossy or flat, still plain old (cheap) steel wheels to me. But like matt_a said, to each his own.Clipsed wrote:The Versa looks decent though, since the steelies are actually painted black and cleared, so they are shiny. LOL nope not me...when I see another car rocking the blackies I think to myself, "man rocking the blackies!" I love how they look and when you lower the car so the tires are tucking under the fender...they look so much better.matt_a wrote:I agree 100%. I think buying a new car and not ponying up just a little for rims is a big mistake.lain wrote:

and besides i think new rims are a big waste of money. and when you scrap them your like !@#$ BUT when you scrap your blackies your like !@#$ it.
heh the G35 would like like a beast if it was rolling on like 18" blackies BUT the car would have to be lowered and black. And YES i do think a paint job is a big waste of money. I use to drive a 240sx what do you think im going to think.Rockhound wrote:I think buying a new car and not ponying up just a little for rims is a big mistake.
Just FYI, most folks aren't really intentionally "rocking the blackies", they've usually just lost their hubcaps. For some track car or something it might look okay, I guess. Do you also think paint jobs are a waste of money?
Actually if you were to "scrap" either sets of wheels I'm assuming the alloys would be worth more, but yes if you scrape nice rims that's a bummer.
I shudder to think what a G35 would look like on "blackies".
Ever Victorious wrote:As a side note, around here, "rockin the blackies" as you call it indicates you've either spent every last penny on your fart cannon and can't afford wal-mart hubcaps, or your car is 20 years old and they've all fallen off. Either case, it's not a positive fashion statement.
I didn't mean to imply they don't, EV. I was just trying to say that stock ones work fine on most cars, and not offering them standard should neither be a problem nor considered cheap on the part of the manufacturer.Ever Victorious wrote:3) Bolt on hubcaps DO exist...
I've never seen that emoticon and for some reason I'm slightly offended...matt_a wrote:
Ya know....When I saw that one I decided to use it because I thought his little sign was funny, but I thought it was a kind of suggestive that they made the little emoticon guy brown. I mean, most of the other ones are yellow, blue, or green. Sorry if it offended you!TrustME wrote:I've never seen that emoticon and for some reason I'm slightly offended...
Well, being that yours is a july/august car, you don't have to worry about TPMS. Unless you meant July/august 2006.Jerky_san wrote:I had to get one replaced already.. 307 miles on the car.. I think mine was made around July/August.. Is there a lot of stuff happening with those?.. Kinda scares me theres so many things going wrong with others around here like fuel pump and tpms and stuff..
